The Ring of Earth Control is not conveying the (automated translation-promised!) +1 Deflection AC bonus. Nalia had a +2 Deflection before and after I put it on for a grand total of AC 17 either way.

While we're on the subject, _STAF10 is only giving Jaheira +1 of its promised +2 Deflection AC bonus.

This is the part where you have to read the IWD2 (or 3E) rulebook! (Or the loading hints!)

Bonuses are *not* cumulative. You take the max. "Generic" is the only cumulative type of AC bonus (and it specifically says cumulative in my descriptions).

Example: Bull Strength +2 STR and Belt of Yada +4 STR = +4 STR.

Example: Ring of Yada +1 Deflection and Staff of Fooda +2 Deflection = +2 Deflection.

I'm pretty 3e clueless (although Katie did buy me the PH/DMG for Christmas and I'm sorta getting the hang of it from reading them), and remember that I have yet to play IWD2 proper.
