CANNOT BE FIXED: AR0119 troll vs. servant
« on: February 26, 2003, 05:51:15 PM »
b11

Something tells me this is gonna happen a lot in the Keep...

The first troll/servant encounter, "No! Please! Don't punish me anymore!" results in 15 points of damage and Servant - Death, but the guy's still standing there.

_PSERV01.DLG state 0 does some action to make the kptro104.cre attack kpserv01.cre, but nothing to force him to die, it seems...

This can happen in BG2 as well if you are playing some sort of hitokiri battousai PC who kills the troll before it gets over to the peasant.

By the way -- the "Servant - Death" message you are seeing is actually for the servant in the upper right corner. The "first servant" as you come in is never attacked. And the reason is ... the original ARE file has two trolls (kptrol04) with the same death variable. One of them gets an additional variable from the ARE file.

I changed IWG's handling of ARE variables and now the second encounter works correctly. The first is still random.

Jason, I'm sorry to say that this will probably have to remain broken.

My attempt to fix it breaks the rest of the game (as v13 demonstrates).
