Hmm. Maybe I need to work on this whole 'powers of the obvious' thing a little more. It doesn't look like I've nailed it quite yet...

And yes, about that flirt...parts of it are still not coming together for me. I'm not sure if I'm just being too much of a perfectionist, or if my muse has decided to go on vacation and is occasionally sending very brief postcards.
Or perhaps both.

Muses do tend to do that a lot around here. I still have my suspicions that Niz has something to do with it though ;)

All right, all right, we're down to three options.

1.) The muses got together and they're throwing a wild party. They'll be back sometime after curfew.

2.) The muses got together and went on a long vacation. They'll send us the occasional postcard or long letter, and they'll be back...sometime.

3.) Niz has something to do with it.

Or perhaps it's a combination. Maybe Niz is throwing a wild party for the muses.

Hmph.

My vote is that Niz has ensorcelled all your muses into a hot tub somewhere.  That'd work if it's as chilly where they are as it is here.

I think you're right. It's about twenty-five degrees in my part of Oregon. No wonder the muse ditched me.

*swinging from the rafters by tippy toes* *ocassionally fishes for chocolates*

So...I was just wondering. Given that the flirts are so far 'PG', and unisex only on the PC's end of things...How far below the belt are we allowed to go?

Or, should I say...we know Sola's male, can't we just well...grab his crotch? Yank him around by the belt? "Accidentally rub him the right way"? Going by the theory you've already seen it all post-nookie, of course.

And what counts as "appropriate"ly lickable? Already noted ears. Fingers? Chest? Back? Neck?

Oh, and hello friendly friends!  :)

H.lo there! I believe the flirts are going to be more on the innocent side, at least for nearly half of it, just how 'heavy' the flirts will be once Sola catches on is up to Tsuru.

Methinks that Niz is innocent of this (for once). That Shakespeare book attached to his hand also works as a radar for incoming muses.  ;)

Ah hah, there is said de-lurker! Welcome again! :)

Mmm... I am awaiting word from Mr. Weimer (Wes, oh Wes, your devoted fans are awaiting you!) on exactly what level of intimancy he'll be comfortable with for Sola.  Right now, as Ama said, I'm erring on the side of caution.

They don't *have* to be unisex, I'm sorry I wasn't clear on that, I guess :) If someone wants to write a one-gender flirt, and it fits well, I will happily code it to come up for only that sex of player. It's an easy enough thing to do. My only concern is that we try to have an equal amount for both genders if that should happen.

Mmm...lickable parts? Anything not covered by armor should be fair game in my book. Thoughts anyone?

Hmmm.....just thought of something that while does not deal with licking, it still involves the tongue. How about the PC teaching Sola how to French-Kiss? (Okay, so this is the old name for it in CA, but still...)

Just something I wanted to throw out there.

*glee* Lickable parts...is it my fault if elf ears happen to be long and pointy? *GLEE*

*inspired* Hrm. Drat. That probably does count as porn. Ah, well. I suppose Tsuru could beat me about the head when I send it in later.  :)

Teach Sola how to french kiss? Oooh. I wanna see that.

Hmmm.  Just because drow don't flirt as surfacers know it doesn't mean that Sola is otherwise naive.  We have Viconia's word for it that they have a very extensive erotic repertoire, in fact.  Considering that, I think that once matters become more intimate than mere flirting, the teaching is more likely to come from Sola than the other way around.

I agree.

Also, I think a certain amount of restraint is in order here, or before we know it the Sola we all fell in love with won't exist anymore.  A few flirts are one thing, but don't ignore the basic character concept.  Just because a behavior can be written in doesn't mean it should be.

Hendryk and L'Jonte have very good points. The Drow repertoire should be pretty extensive, if those massage boys in Ust Natha are anything to go by. Something to chew on. Yessssss.

My current flirt ideas (I'm multitasking on them as we speak) involve something I've lifted off Chinese/Japanese literati. There is a tradition among the Sino-Japanese scholars involving extensive tea drinking, calligraphy, painting, poetry writing/reading and even swordplay (yes, more or less at once). Found some absolutely lovely Chinese and Japanese poems I'm trying to use as the basis for Sola-PC exchanges. There is something beautifully erotic about the re-pictured mundane, neither effete nor overtly romantic.

I am however, aware that the poems currently in place for Sola are more European than Asian. Am, for now, disguising the latter poetry as Kara-Tur literature, but I am unsure if this is essentially a bad idea? I do not intend to spoil the 'mood' of Sola's romantic poetry, and my poems are not so obviously Asian in imagery (that is, no geisha, teahouses or sampans), but I still don't want to cause any sort of problem by going forward with this. For example, here's a waka I've integrated into a flirt:

Through the blackest shadow
Of the darkness of the heart I wander
In bewilderment -
You who know the world of love, decide:
Is my love reality or dream?

(Ariwara no Narihira)

This poem begins an IF...THEN sequence, two poetic replies the PC could pick, one good, one bad. Or perhaps, the entire idea itself reeks of over-drama?

Actually that sounds as if it might be better as a banter, Vampyre.. which we encourage also :)

As for the rest.. I repeat. We are sticking to PG-rated for now. Until I hear otherwise from Wes, that's the best way to go.
