As long as it's more sane than the Minor Avatar of Sekolah, I wouldn't mind seeing it. I know Spellhold is supposed to be a doddle, but do we have to go as low as roadkill Kobolds and Xvarts? But I'd also like to repeat the "avatar not fully formed" statement and Kish's views on gratuitous deity fights.

What's this Sekolah thing?

I don't blame them.  The Twisted Rune is one of Faerun's secret organizations that actually is secret.  No one knows who they are or what they want, and except for maybe Big Cheeses like Eliminster and Khelben, no one's even heard of them.  (Also except for omniscient gamers.  ^^')  The leaders (at least, the leaders as high up as we've been told) are mostly very old, very powerful liches and demiliches.  They were founded by Rysellan the Dark, and they generally have their dark hands in everything.  Everything.  I seem to remember that they have complete control over the government of Calimshan (I think), and they have all of the Zhentarim on their leash, though neither the Zhents nor the Calimshites have any idea who they're working for.

I just wish I knew how high-ranking a member Shangalar was... and what on Toril the Rune wanted with skinned peasants.

Oh, and Sekolah is the Sahuagin shark-god.  I wasn't aware that his avatar ever was supposed to make an appearance in BG2.

I guess that is not UB. Isn't that the blurred dark Sahuagin which helps the priestess in the Underwater City?

You forgot to include the Trademeet militia. They must be more powerful than they seem. :D

He was fairly high-level, but not the head honcho. Someone once posted detailed stats somewhere for all the members of the Rune that were in Baldur's Gate II. It was an interesting read.

Unless some mod adds this to the City-of-Caverns, I think you may be confusing this with the kuo-toan prince in the Underdark (who is initially both black and blurred).

Shangalar is second in command of the Rune, a fellow lich called Ranghaun being the leader.  The Rune was founded by yet another lich, Rysellan, though Ranghaun killed him some time ago.

What isn't made clear by BG2 is that Shangalar is actually a tiefling lich ;).

@devsin: No, I don't mean the Kuo-Toa-prince in the UD, but the creature that joins the fight when you attack the priestess smack in the middle of the Sahuagin City. I provide a screenshot next time I pass through there.

Yup that's the one. I think Kurtulmak's avatar (fully formed or not) should be less powerful than that, though, since it's unavoidable.

Thanks, Sim. So it was the Ghost of the Tactics Past which haunted me.
