The NFL is the most profitable league in the wrold, and they have profit sharing.  I'm pretty certain the NBA does too.  Why can't hockey follow the common sense trend?  (Don't the NFL and NBA also have salariy caps too?  I know the NFL does)

Only the NFL and MLB have profit sharing, and the NBA has a "soft" salary cap meaning that exceptions can be made so that a team can go over it..........I think revenue sharing is a good idea but it'll most likely get accepted only if both the owners and the players see it as beneficial to the league (i.e improve profits)

On the whole profit sharing will help the league, but certain larger teams *cough*Detroit*cough* will not really gain anything and might actualy lose money

The whole idea behind revenue sharing is that richer teams won't be able to dominate the sport year in and year out and that teams with less financial resources will actually spend any profit they get on improving their team, but yeah not everyone will like it........it's probably safe to assume that this will only happen if a salary cap is put in place first

With Philly it would have probably been a more physical match......it's hard to say with the Lightning although their captain has plenty of motivation to win the cup........
