I've heard that they're smarter than a normal hamster (but nowhere near the level Minsc claims for Boo, more like "they can learn more complicated tricks" level), and they live longer.

Yep, minature giant space hamsters appear almost identical to normal hamsters, but they are slightly more intelligent (barely) and live a short while longer.  They are also more likely to be discovered near Tinker gnomes.

Regarding the spoiler: I had no clue it was one, since that post was a direct quote from the Spelljammer Monster Compendium 8 book.  I don't really know anything about Dragonlance so it didn't even register to me.

I would also say that Demogorgan would be one of the strongest creatures in existance.

Quoting Discharger at the "Better Monster" thread...
Even so, can't we just buff him up a bit? I mean, he IS supposed to be some huge giant hellish beast. He looks much more tough then demogorgan.

Anyways, are you saying that the Demogorgon can defeat the Lady of Pain? I'd like to see that.

So, i guess Boo might acutaly be a Miniature Giant Space Hamster, with overrated intelligence.  Wierd...
IMHO the strongest thing that adventurers could encounter is the lord of battle, Tempus.  Who else we be tougher to fight? Like, Ao doesn't really meddle with mortal matters.

Slight problem.  Demogorgon is a lesser power/demipower (deity), and the Lady of Pain is rumored to be a Greater Power (highest deity rank not counting overpowers).  I wouldn't count either as monsters.

Boo has lived quite a long time compared to regular hamsters which childhood trauma reminds me only live about 2 years. I know  Giant Space Hamsters are in the rule books, didn't realise Mini ones were as well, I figured that was just a joke on behalf of the BG writers.

Believe it or not there are also Fire Breathing Phase Dopelganger Space Hamsters in the official rulebooks and other types that are even more silly.

As far as I know they are only in second edition.  Here is the page from the Spelljammer Monster Manual which lists the variations on the normal Giant Space Hamster.
