Version 248 "Enhammered" has been released. Better late than later, eh?

I'm hoping someone can provide builds for Mac. Thanks, AL|EN!

For whatever reason, I am unable to upload to weidu.org, so the readme and such hosted there is not current. All sorted.

Minor issue(?): Every time I open up a setup exe after the initial update run, weidu seemingly reports the version of every setup exe in this sort of long preamble.

Besides that, v248 seems to have fixed my most major issue with v247, which was re/uninstallations almost always dying, so yay! Thanks.

Yes, I moved some stuff around and now auto-update does that. It's mostly cosmetic; will fix.

Maybe @AL|EN ...?

I'd like to try it myself, but I'm on an "old" version of macOS (Catalina)...

If you want to try, I wouldn't expect there to be any compatibility problems between something released in 2019 and contemporary versions. I think the important bits were the 64 ones, but I'm not very knowledgeable about macOS.

Hello! I faced a big problem when using the new version 248: the error "Too many parameters" began to appear in many dialogs. For example, when installing the "BG1NPCs in BG2" mod with exe-file from v.248, such errors appear in almost every dialog. Here is an example of this (dialogue with Gaelan at the beginning of the game, if the "Tiax & Quayle" component is installed):

I used "WeiDU-Windows-248-x86-legacy.zip"

At the same time, if I return version 247 and install the same mod with the old version, then there are no errors and everything works well again. That is, the reason is in the new version of WeiDU, and not in mod.
What could be the reason and how to fix it?

I can reproduce this using WeiDU v248 x64.

Yeah, for some reason the regexp won't match every time. I'm reverting this change and will most likely be pushing out another release later tonight or tomorrow.

Version 249 "Master Doom" has been released.

Changes

This version fixes the dialogue issue discovered in 248.

WeiDU-Mac-249.zip: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtYuNL_wtqPlqM1FPpalD8jV16RrRA?e=s0m4fF
This was build without upx because currently, upx doesn't work for the newest macOS.

Hello! The only drawback of the new version is that now it takes a lot of waiting time before installing the mod. When there is only one mod, this is not a problem, but when the player installs dozens of mods, it can take a long time to wait each time. If there is an opportunity to speed up loading in future versions (to make it the same as it was on 247), that would be great! :)

Can you provide a debug file from one of these (completed) slow installations?

OK, here is a debug file and a message from our tester:

A very long wait before installing each mod, if there are several. When installing the last mod in the log (Dragonspear ++), WeiDU was loaded and updated for two minutes.

I've been unable to reproduce this.
Does this problem occur if you run WeiDU with the --noautoupdate option (you need to run WeiDU from the command line)?
Does this problem occur with an otherwise "clean" game folder (i.e., as obtained from e.g., GOG and with only WeiDU mods having been added)?
Does this problem also occur on games without SoD?

Maybe it's time to change shit "WeiDU-Backup  --game bar" to "--version" ?
