Author Topic: bg1ub for bgt, cant finish kagains quest, no body of the noble child  (Read 4872 times)

I installed the following mods to bg 2 in the listed order:
->bg2fixpack, newest with manual tweaks to some files to resolve compatibility problems with bgt
->baldur's gate trilogy, newest version
-> unfinished business 1 and 2, newest
-> swordcoast stratagem, newest
-> wide screen

I have checked and rechecked all the mods to ensure that they are not supposed to conflict with each other. I have played the game til chapter 2 and all has been well...except some minor problems such as sometimes those ''sleeping man / woman/ dwarf ...etc.'' would suddenly disappear when they are in visual range. but now i get stuck with kagain's quest thats purported to be fixed by unfinished business for bg 1, since i can't find that brat's body, nor is the fibula in any of the chests next to the raided caravan., and there are no bandits to be found either. i tried clicking on every dead body in that area, and tried using tab to view all containers and bodies. but there is none. i have also found a thread on pocketplane forum with one of the users claiming that the mod only does add a body to the map when the player first enters it with a 'one day timer'. i am not sure what he means but the first time i arrived in the coast way and found the caravan site there was no body either, nor bandits.
I suspect that bg2 fixpack might have conflicted with unfinished business somehow but i am in a kind of pinch since i have already played for some time and i am worried that if i reinstall all the mods my saves would be unplayable and i have to start over again....i cant find any further info on the compatibility issues caused by my particular combination of mods than what i already have and i am out of ideas. could someone help me with it? i know its quite a minor problem but its really annoying to have a bugged quest halting the whole RP experience short and i really like kagains quest.

The bandits and fibula are added by BG1NPC. BG1UB only adds a body for Kagain to find.

The body will be located near the wrecked caravan SE of the map center. The resolution requires Kagain to be in the party and he has to get close enough to the body to ID it as Silvershield's son.

The body of the child should be at [3849.2581] on the Coast Way map.

The bandits and fibula are added by BG1NPC. BG1UB only adds a body for Kagain to find.

The body will be located near the wrecked caravan SE of the map center. The resolution requires Kagain to be in the party and he has to get close enough to the body to ID it as Silvershield's son.

Body shows up for me, but no matter where I place Kaigan he doesn't ID the body and the quest won't conclude

After hammering around randomly putting Kaigan about 3 feet right of the body seemed to work. I'd been at this for probably 30 minutes though. But at least it works
