Weidu, Generalized Buffing, and Macs
« on: March 09, 2015, 01:27:03 PM »
I am setting up a new BGT install with 90+ mods (once more into the breach!) but this time I am moving into the modern era, using a GOG version of the game in a pre-configured in WINE. This is great in many ways, because I can use Mac versions of mods, and install everything quickly and easily with my Mac Weidu Launcher.

But, I'm going to need to use G_B at the end. Will I have to copy the game folder to a Windows computer to run G_B and then copy it back? (This was necessary for BGT but that was okay, it was very early on and the override folder was very small. At the end of it all, when I need to install G_B, the game files take up like 10-15 GB!)

I vaguely recall reading that G_B won't work with the Mac-compiled version of Weidu. But then I've also seen hints that the newer versions of Weidu solve the problem. Can anyone clear it up?

Thanks!

I don't think so, see and read these words here: "this works natively under OSX and Linux " . Fun...
You just have to extract the ,rar file, remove the ...exe and replace it with your OS executable what ever that is.

You'll need to use Wine to install generalized biffing with the Windows WeiDU, since the Mac OSX one will break your chitin.key. Uninstalling can be done with any of the versions (Mac OSX or Windows).
