Weidu v23600, and the missing directories.
« on: September 10, 2014, 05:43:19 PM »
So the BG1EE game directory don't always contain the Override, Scripts, Sounds, Portraits and Characters -folders, I assume the weidu already auto handles the Override folder being missing, but ...

I am unable to verify why this works on my BG2, but not on Lemernis BG1EE: weidu.exe v23600 in use.
Code: [Select]
COMPILE ~pardasfd/pardafam.baf~ //this should print out the .bcs file...
COPY_EXISTING ~pardafam.bcs~ ~characters/pardafam.bs~
So any help would be appreciated. I am thinking horrors related to the .bs files with Enhanced Edition, so getting them fixed could help people. As one cannot really ... hmm could the error be that the game folder doesn't have the end directory ? Mike1072 killed me. (in the linked thread.)

... the Characters folder was not there and it led to errors, so could the weidu.exe auto take care of the other folders too ?

Sorry about taking so long to respond.

No. Which folders to create and where to create them would depend on what game it is, and I don't want to get involved in that. I also don't want to automatically create the destination directory instead of failing, because that leads to silent errors. The override directory is an exception, because (for our purposes) it's always in the same place and virtually every mod, as well as WeiDU itself, require that the override directory exists.

I suggest you get into the habit of using MKDIR instead. There's no danger to using it on already existing directories.
