Quest Pack has caused MANY errors
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:02:21 PM »
After installing Quest pack I keep getting dialogue about Celile in odd places, eg the Djinni in the dungeon at the begining of the game just repeats: "Then it is as I feared. (sob) Celile...".  Also, this appears in item descriptions as well.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I should mention that so far I have not seen any other errors besides this.

If you've got dialogue appearing in item descriptions and things, that is probably not quest pack's fault.

I think it means your dialog.tlk is messed up, and I think the only solution is a reinstall from scratch because the problem will keep cropping up otherwise.

I think one of the ways this happens is if you try to install a mod with the game running, or installing 2 mods at once, or something similar.

Strange that you say you have no other errors though - it's only the djinni's dialogue that appears in odd places? No other dialogue? If it's just the former it could well be something else at work, as I don't think a jumbled up dialog.tlk would care to only give you one character's text in odd places, but rather everyone and everything's...

That's correct - I, too, advise restoring a clean install. Please, see this topic for more instructions: http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,17555
