official bg1 comic
« on: December 18, 2009, 05:53:05 PM »
Hi all guys..
Once, on the black isle baldur's gate page, there was a cool bg 1 comic i can't seem to find anymore online.. on planet baldur'sgate there are some pages (http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/bg/media/files/goodies/).. but sadly the link points out to a fanmade comic that it's NOT the one i refer too.. yet on the page you can find the first 2 pages..

this is one to help ye remember.. sadly with low resolution

Hope someone can help me out finding it!

I don't think I have this anywhere.

Jason, your community needs you to download and mirror this somewhere!

Here's the full comic in .CBR format:

If you don't have CDisplay installed, you can just open the file with Winzip or any similar program and extract the images.

That's the full comic? It seems to end rather abruptly in the 22nd image.

I know there's no "END" tag, but the story IS concluded by that page.

Ah. Well, since the cover and inside cover ad were scanned, I thought the rear cover would also appear.

around some sites you can even find some very interesting screenshots of the baldur's gate beta and see how the game could have been :)

A lot of the beta graphics are still in the game and could be restored, if anyone had a reason to do so. I have also got a screenshot of the alpha where the differences are a lot bigger and some of Battleground Infinity, an early version of the engine where the game is barely recognisable.

Is that the one where they were playing with the idea of doing multiplayer PvP, or did that start with i.e. ?

You're talking about the deathmatch nonsense? I think they just cut that because they ran out of time.

I think the Battleground was the pre-D&D engine (basically, the chitin/infinity engine without THAC0). Same thing as what we have now, just nobody wanted to play with their stupid rules (and after this comic, you can really appreciate that they had to be given the story for BG by BIS).
