bug with Rahul Kanakia's Potion quest (spoiler here)

If you are ever fortunate enough to find a potion of magic blocking (thank you Aran Linvail) and get
to finish this quest, and elect to have some other member of your party drink the resulting potion in
the interest of science, you run into a bug.

If you have that character hand his weapons to somebody else before experimenting, the result is exactly as if you had the main character drink the potion, with the other member taking the penalty.  But otherwise, that char
will attack Jadarath when he is done drinking, (oddly, sometimes before the dialog option of
'I feel strange' or 'Ow that hurts' and one-hit kills him.  At this point the game hangs.
