Corrupted area on disk, am I going to have to re-purchase?
« on: October 17, 2008, 10:59:58 PM »
After some time away from the game I decided to re-install this evening only to find that my area 4800.bif would not transfer over from the cd.  I have tried every way I can think of to move the file and haven't been successful.  Am I going to have to re-purchase the original game again or is there some way to salvage this?

I'll send you that file. Gimme an email address in my PM folder.

But, that might not help, if the version is wrong, so make sure the versions are the same! And if Marauders file doesn't help, just say which version you have is, and us the others might be able to help.

Managed to rip the file from the disk using a different drive.  At some point here I think I am going to have to go out and buy a new set.  Are there any notable differences between the DVD and the 5(6 with tosc) disk cd set?

Few, as in you can't use ones file for the other, the saves might not work on each others. There might also be a few mod compatibility issues.

Perhaps. Try making your own BG2 DVD.
