Newbie Questions
« on: July 31, 2008, 08:48:04 AM »
Hey guys,
  Great site, Great boards. Heres my dilemma. I haven't played BG1 or BG2 for a few years now. The last time I played there was only a few mods out (Darkest day, A few weapons and items). So when I decided to check these games out again. You can imagine how happy I was to find all these new mods. I figured for my first run through I would play BG1 and BG2 With the BG1 tutu (easy install). I then installed the BG1 NPC project. All of which are running great. Any time I try to install another mod (such as sirines call or the "finch" character). I get this message in the dos box:
error:unable to find DIALOG.TLK in : dialog tlk
please run this program in your infinity engine game directory
FATAL ERROR : failure ("unable to find DIALOG.TLK")
Hope this doesn't make me sound like a dumbass, But where exactly am I supposed to install these programs and or what am I doing wrong. Heres a list of what I've installed;
BG1 w/totsc
BG2 w/tob
latest patch for BG2 w/tob
BG1 tutu (easy)
BG1 NPC project
Thanks in advance

It means that you have to unpack your mod in your Tutu(easy) game directory. Choose Tutu directory during installation, and everything should be fine.

I'm not talking about placing files, I'm talking about installation directory you type in after clicking the .exe file.
