Sorry for not visiting the thread for a while; let's see:
- Adalon's blood updated, thank you;
- Gate keeper link is valid, since it points to the main site with a link to Gatekeeper, but, okay, here you go with a more direct link to Gatekeeper subsection;
- Advice about suspicious sites probably should go to an antivirus/Win8 forum. So far I haven't heard of mod makers distributing viruses, however;
- Dead link to Pierre's Kitpack [Non-Weidu] link hidden, thank you; as for unauthorized version upload, please see jcompton's post;
- BGT Tweaks links to BGT forum currently, which is a more stable link, but since it doesn't provide a pinned download thread, I will re-link it to http://www.shsforums.net/files/category/38-bgt-weidu/ downloads-BGT section - same for textscreen music;
- Ajantis link updated, sorry for the wait, mea culpa;
- Will check older posts shortly. (Again, sorry for the wait - I have a small eye problem, which doesn't prevent me from watching Dexter and browsing BSN in my free time, but curiously prevents me from updating the outdated modlist links).

- Tactics for IWD2 - link updated;
- Dead Wikaede/Neh'Taniel/etc links hidden; if the author uploads the mods somewhere and you find out about it, let us know;
- Dead chosenofmystra in NPC and NPC-related links changed to www.baldursgatemods.com or the mod's subsection if the mod is there.

I'm not sure what to do with gamingnerdsrus.co links, anyway - when I tried to check the already existing link to Ggib Eht Tweak Pack, I got this:
Quote
Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum!
Because you should die of cancer, that's why.
We're sure it's not Moongaze's forum... or is it? Anyway, moving on:

- Paladins of Faerun link is now hidden, thank you;
- Talon's Xan is, sadly, down, too; Touchstone, same thing; Nujeah Romance, turned it off for the time being;
- Double-checked both jastey's Ajantis mods.

And I probably missed something. I should go back and clean some other links, but I don't think I'll find them all by hand. Eye. Whatever. Sigh. Really, there'd be far more help out of Beamdog and Co if they just hosted a large, free, permanent-sounding mirror for all mods and their descriptions, if the authors were willing, of course. Now, if Cam, Ace, K and jcompton decide to take a nap and move to Seychelles, we're all doomed.

Only way to check for dead links is to check each link manually and see if a download commences. You could divide it up into sections and assign each section to a moderator.

Looks like a great invention, Kaeloree, many thanks! I guess it still needs to be section by section, though, otherwise, due to modlist structure, I cannot find which link goes where. But that's a very useful tool indeed.

... Unfortunately, urls with slashes aren't supported, so "section by section" won't work, either. Sigh. I suspect we may need a different modlist structure to get all things in order; not sure how, though.

So, we(I, probably) will have to do this by hand.

- Checked the whole "online resources" secion; dead links should be, well, dead. And gone;
- Same for "reviews"(this was easy);
- Soundsets(easy, too, naturally);
- And "portraits"(surprisingly, all portrait sites are still intact, except for www.rosenranken.org. And G3, but G3 will recover soonish, so, naturally, not touching these).
- "Self-help/tutorials" done. Unfortunately, no official tech support except for Bioware's old forum; added BG:EE tech support link. By the way, folks, if you got any new/old working links to any tutorials, you're very welcome to submit them - we do check the modlist from time to time and click "approve", honest.
- Tools section done, too. Can't find old TeamBG resources, like bamCD/mosCD - igi's website is up, but "tools" section is forbidden. Also, various Clan Dlan resources, like Teambg mirror, seem to be gone.

Will probably do the tiiiiiniest "Mods" section. But later. Much later.

Hmm, it seemed to work fine for me? At least for the first eighty pages it checked, I turned it off after verifying it went that far through. All you need to do is input:

modlist.pocketplane.net

and it works for me as far as I can tell on another quick viewing!

Yes, I agree that modlist.pocketplane.net works fine, absolutely, but I'll be helpless with the resulting list, since I won't know which link goes where(which category, etc). So, the only thing that could actually help would be inputting a small section of the modlist, for example, http://modlist.pocketplane.net/index.php?ax=list&cat_id=5 - but it won't work with the site, since it says that the free version doesn't admit slashes in the desired address.

I just took another look, and it seems straightforward to me; you just click the "url" link on each line to view the page on which the broken link occurs, then just briefly skim down with hover to see which it is specifically. Or alternatively, if you click the "source" link it will actually be more helpful and show you exactly which mod in question has the broken link.

Should be significantly faster than going through everything individually, in any case.

You're right, it does help quite a bit, thank you - didn't quite catch that!

I'll be certain to use it again when Gibberlings3 - and Blackwyrm, too, it seems - are up again.
(My other issue with the modlist has two modes - normal mode and admin mode - and you have to first find the link in normal mode, then, in another window, find the same section in admin mode and only *then* you can edit it - but regardless, using that site does sound faster).

- Fixed most of/all BG1Tutu and BGT mod links.
- Fixed most of/all IWD and BG links.
- Fixed some BG2 links; a few sections left.

Warning: we have a length problem here; for example, for Trials of the Luremaster,
http://www.fileplanet.com/62184/60000/fileinfo/Icewind-Dale---Heart-of-Winter:-Trials-of-the-Luremaster
there's a link-cutting problem; modlist deletes the last three letters. Not sure what to do about it, yet. Maybe just leave the link to general IWD resources.

Maybe it has a maximum length of around 100 characters. A text editor like Crimson Editor tells you the length of each line, example above has 103 characters.

Okay, finished with the broken links for the time being, I hope. There might be one or two outdated links, but hopefully, no more broken ones. Well, today. :) Kaeloree, thank you again for the broken links's checker - a truly useful tool.

Please read about G3 emergency mirror a few posts up. It should work there(if not, try again in ten minutes - maybe an upload is in progress).

Oh. Some fileplanet links worked for me when I checked a month ago, but they just loaded longer. I'll have another look soonish. If there's a mirror somewhere, maybe we can find it.

I don't know if this has been asked already-- the graphics thingies in the upper right-hand corner... I've always liked them, and wondered who made them.

And relevant to this thread, the links for some do need updating.

(And a few removed or modified -- e.g. I've just seen one for Ease-of-Use.)

I just checked the Adventurer's Guild and Kris Johnstone's Custom Sounds, and both work.

If you're asking about banners, it's mod banner rotation. Banners are not visible from the modlist, by the way. They are created by mod authors or artists who are willing - for example, Daulmakan and badfae and other lovely people got me mine.

As for Ease of Use, I think Weidu.org quite correctly states: Stop using this mod! Use G3 Tweak Pack instead, as it contains Ease of Use and is better supported.
There have been discussions about whether we should list certain mods, but then again, look at SHS stats - dark side of the sword coast is about the most popular one, and TDD, too. Not list it, depite the atrocious quality? Not for us to decide, I'm afraid.

(If you've got a non-working specific link, please post here, but "some links" is not specific enough for the purposes of, well, updating. And, please, do submit listings for the mods you've missed - I log in every few weeks and click "approve/visible" on new submissions).

Home > Portraits > Portrait Sites

Crosbie's Ready Room (NWN)
members.lycos.co.uk/crosbie71/NeverwinterPortraits.html

Kicks me straight to a "Site missing" page.

Baldur's Gate Customizations
http://molskin.hypermart.net/

Not completely dead, but unable to be accessed beyond the first page. The Enter button doesn't work.

La Taverne de Baldurien
http://tavernedebaldurien.chez.com/bg_portraits.htm (listed as www.chez.com/tavernedebaldurien/bg_portraits.htm)

Main page works. Portrait pages do not.

Thank you for your report! I've unapproved Crosbie's Ready Room(unfortunately)

As for the last two, I'm not sure - they're working, but they're not. I'd leave them just in case, but I'll leave that to jcompton to decide, I guess.
