BIFFing and NI lower-case
« on: November 21, 2007, 01:45:59 AM »
BIFFing in the last couple of BGT-WeiDU versions has resulted in NI displaying files in lower-case. It doesn't when I don't BIFF. It has only now started to annoy me immensely. Anyone know why this occurs?

NI only knows the filenames as indexed by your chitin.key. If they're showing up lowercase, however your BIFFing is being done is probably lowercasing the filenames in your key file.

I.e., you should probably blame bigg. ;)  (EDIT: unless you're using NI to BIFF, in which case, uh... go find Fred! It's his fault for sure!)

I'm pretty sure it's some dumb concession for Linux 'tards. Losers.

If that's not the case, I'll actually look at the source to make sure there isn't some edge case where the filename case is getting screwed.

Actually, I sent to Fred/igi/whomever some NI lower-casing code too. And, on NI it can't be disabled depending on OS as I do on WeiDU (but I might have fucked up and forgot to disable it on Windows once, of course).

OTOH, I'm not sure that in the 'official' NI lowercase is included. EDIT: in fact, the 'public' NearInfinity doesn't have the lowercase code.

EDIT II: lowercasing removed from WeiDU.

Thanks! Do you think I might be able to test it out to make sure that the problem is fixed?
