Install Possible with Missing .biv file?
« on: August 10, 2007, 06:47:19 PM »
I just got around to reinstalling Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, and I'm having a rough time getting the MovieCD4.bif file to copy over.

This isn't a large problem, because I can simply disable the movies and never have to worry about it.  However, I can't install Tutu without having all files present.  Is there a way to phantom this file, or have the install done without having it in the folder?

Thanks ahead of time for any help! :)

Hello -

You can create a file with Notepad or something, give it the name of the missing file, and place it in the same folder with the other movie BIFFs in your BG1 installation.  I don't believe I do any checksum verifications on the movie files.

Of course, you'll have to handle the issue of the missing movie(s) yourself, though...circumventing the installer's verification sort of "voids the warranty."
