Ascension bug? (minor spoilers I guess)

I'm posting this here, although I'm not sure if Ascension really is to blame.  But maybe all you smarter people will have more ideas than me...

Recently, I completely redid my BG2 installation, as I wanted to test Ascension and all Ascension content (Longer Road, Redemption and Turnabout), that I had never tried out (for some reason, don't ask, I don't know why I never did this before ).

Anyway, I started a new ToB game with a character I had previously exported, and got the mask in the Elven Grove.  Met up with Illasera, killed her, got to the Pocket Plane, allowed Sarevok in the group, summoned Cernd, Imoen and Valygar, and Rielev shows up after the first challenge, shows me what's going on with Cyric and the hooded figure, explains Illmater's deal, and I end up recruiting Irenicus too.

Up to this point, I'm guessing everything's going smoothly, but when I exit the Pocket Plane, get to Saradush, kill the guards, and speak to Melissan, the whole game just crashes for some reason after the "You might consider me to be a... guardian, for want of a better term.  I know the prophecies of Alaundo, I know some feel they allude to the return of Bhaal to the Realms." line from Melissan's dialog SARMEL01.  From what my Infinity Explorer says, Irenicus is supposed to intervene after that dialog line, and it just says "<INVALID PHRASE>", so I guess that's my basis for blaming Ascension.

What can I do to solve this?  I'm figuring I can work my way around this, by selecting other dialog options, but still, that's not really satisfying, I guess.  So, I'm kinda stumped, I'm not sure what could be causing this.

I'm including the code from my WeiDU log file, although it isn't very different from my previous installation (I only have Keto and Amber newly installed now, and I don't see how SoA only NPCs could interfere here... )

Any ideas, gang??

I'd uninstall Redemption at once - it doesn't work with Longer Road, and it will get you into serious trouble in the final battle.

I think I've seen a similar report in Longer Road forum - I'd search it, probably you'll get your answer then.
