Sirine's Call Bug?
« on: October 06, 2006, 03:30:51 PM »
For some reason in my current game of Easytutu I cannot complete the Lighthouse quest to kill the worgs that have Ardrouine's Lost boy trapped in the lighthouse. I have sirine's call installed, along with some other mods, (ill post my weidu log below) but I've talked to Ardrouine, went up, killed the worgs, and gone back and all she says is "Hurry! to the Nothwest!" or whatever. I've ran all around the area, explored all 3 buildings and rooms, etc.
Is this a bug of Sirine's Call, or what? I can't find any global variables in SK to change regarding this even, either.

Please help. If it was just the regular BG quest i'd skip it, but this starts Sirine's Call and i'd like to check that out.

Might be just a Tutu thing. I had the same thing happen w/o Sirene's Call. All the wargs were dead, but Ardrouine never acknowledged it. Finally, I just gave up.

This may indeed be a trouble with BG1 NPC -- we had a thread about it somewhere -- I'll go look.

It had to do with I_T_Cs into that whole worg sequence...

Thanks for checking on it cmorgan, I appreciate it. I have moved on (currently saved in the cloakwood mines) but i'd really like to do Sirine's Call, and I guess i'm not the only one who's had a problem with it :)

Imoen and Kivan both had interjections when I accepted the quest from Adrouine, and have global varialbes in SK.

There is a known incompatibility with SCS (my fault) and also a possible clash with BG1NPC.

You can fix the former problem by entering

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("WorgsDead","GLOBAL",3)

I'm not sure if there's a quick fix for the latter, though.

No quick fix, but I am looking into it and trying to fix this tomorrow morning. We may be able to set it up so that if BG1 NPC is installed 1st there are links to the globals used in Ghrey's mod... I am still looking for the back research we did.

Currently, if you install BG1 NPC and then Sirines' Call, there should be no problems and everything should work. Supposedly.
You lose about 15 possible interjections from BG1 NPC, but the globals get set correctly and everything works.

If you install Sirine's Call and then BG1 NPC, we end up interjecting into Ghrey's sequence, basically hijacking the thing and never letting his SetGlobal work. The fix is to

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("J#ArdTalk",1)

just after you have had the talk with Arduaine, so that the new quest has the right variables to work with.According to my quick scan of Ghrey's code, everything in the whole quest triggers off of this one global, so it needs to be set before going on with the quest.

Um, forgive me if this is a stupid idea, but if BG1 NPC interjections prevent his sequence from setting the variables, couldn't you just add a dummy line to set them?

Something along the lines of the following might work:

Code: [Select]
INTERJECT_COPY_TRANS ARDwhatever ## SomebodysInterjection
== _NPCXJ IF ~InParty("npc") InMyArea("npc")~ THEN
~Getting rid of those worgs was a stroll in the park. You should try herding gibberlings sometime!~ [NPCwav] + SomebodysInterjectionEnd
END

IF ~~ THEN SomebodysInterjectionEnd
DO ~SetGlobal("J#ArdTalk","GLOBAL",1)~
END

If nothing besides Sirene's call is going to use that variable, it doesn't matter if it gets set.

The logic is sound, in fact, that is what I suggested on the G3 thread that DavidW started when he first ran across this.

That would set an install order of BG1 NPC and the Sirine's call up. What I am not sure of is can you add an action to an I_T_C2 directly, or would you have to go through all 15 of these to fix them.

The other idea is to simply remove all of these interjections into one big separate CHAIN that fires after talking to ard; then we don't have the problem either.

IMO, it might be easier to move them all to a big chain afterwards. Less messing around, and then it wouldn't interfere, regardless of installation order.
