Narlen of the Thief guild and his reward

When you do the quest #2 Narlen gives...to steal the rogue stone from that guy just a bit from Blade and Stars inn he says he will split the loot on three parts. Now you can sell the rogue stone for 2500 gp, he however only gives you 3 pearls which are worth 100 gp each which is thus 300 all, meaning he does not gives you 1/3 of the loot. Should this be fixed? Perhaps giving one diamond and 3 pearls which would be 800 gp worth and close to 1/3 of 2500 gp?
