Ding0's crimes against humanity (split from Xvart Village)
« on: August 08, 2006, 12:09:05 PM »
@Baronius:

Ah, no worries, I was bored and out of chocolate. I was not so serious as I usually am.Carry on!

BTW are obituaries of bearded dictators allowed while discussions about bearded dictators are not, I wonder? Or do you want to let Yahoo moderators have all the fun?

Yeh, I don't know where that went. It was good. Called me a liar and stuff.
You mean it wasn't you who deleted it out of an act of revenge and hatred? Boy, how boring. :(

::) ;D Feuds ain't what they used to be back in the good old days.

You see the difference, Sim? I act according to "omg ToU", while you've no rules.
Quote
You've no moral principles.
Funny.  I always thought personal attacks were against the ToU. :P  Anyway, I wonder how you can justify such a ridiculous statement.  You've never met Sim in person and you certainly have no way of identifying whether or not he eats puppies or steals candy from children in his spare time.  I  would think you'd have more ammo than just "you are rude and you take my words out of context" to back up an assertion that Sim has no moral principles.  While I am fully aware that Sim worships the Devil and bites the heads off of bats in his spare time, I'm pretty sure you didn't know that.
Quote
How can you be so naive to assume that I removed the posts because I've to hide anything? I've never had to hide anything.
Really?   So posts you disagree with disappear not because you don't like or agree with them, but because you don't like the poster? :)
Quote
As for breaking the continuity: now at least you see how unpleasant it is; it's much worse when Sim spams bwl and thus breaks the continuity of normal discussion.
Making a post that others consider "rude" does not constitute spamming.  Sim's offending posts at BWL were  on-topic.  Therefore, not spam.

You know, I really think PPG is better suited for discussing dubious Studios administration decisions. The fact that they haven't cooperated by doing anything silly lately is no excuse to go downmarket.

Can't we designate a different site for dubious Blackwyrm administration? Imoen.org, perhaps, or a revived Limbo, or the ancient EZBoard for Tashia or something?

Drew: You remind me to Sim; he would say: please stop su**ing him (without asterisks). That is what you do there.
See?  This is the problem with asterisks.   I honestly cannot think of a single explitive that that starts with "su".  Either I'm uncreative, you mispelled "fuck", or for some reason you felt the need to bleep the word "suck".  That said, I doubt the Ding0 would take my assertion that he worships Satan and bites the heads off of bats as a compliment, so I have absolutely no clue why you would feel the need to imply I'm sucking up to him.......or....sucking him. :-X  This statement is especially inappropriate as it would apply to me since I insult him at every turn and have even posted in PPG as SlidMang0 just to mess with him (well, it was impersonate Ding0 day.....).

This is almost (but not quite) as tragic as the tale of the members who were banned from PBG for publicly posting snippets of conversation from the Moderators Only forum. Mostly quoting a mod looking for excuses to ban people he doesn't like. The humanity!

F*ck is not as bad as c*nt which not as bad as q****l***p****m***r****k, but that is a very rare Canadian dialekt swearword and I doubt I could pronounce it properly so locals would understand it.

Who needs PGP when we can mean what we say and still protect minors? Minors of course in the sense of preschool children as anybody who can read ( and trust me every kid can understand f*ck) would know what you mean. Try **** and see how many guess fuck. My guess would be roughly 75% in the American population, 22% mean ipod and 3% mean love, but those loosers are all blasted hippies and don't deserve any better.

Also the thread should have been split at least five posts earlier, but since I am no Xvart I cannot gauge their level of arousal that their topic went awry. I guess all they'd have to say is about it anyway is 'Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'. As always.

While I can sympathize with the plight of anyone trying to maintain their concept of order in a chaotic world (sniff, sob), I can also relate to those who enjoy thumbing their noses in the view of rules they feel are stupid, arbitrary, or prudish. I've been on both sides of that fence at one time or another.

Like what the hell? What is the difference between fuck and f*ck? It says the same damned thing. Being a nit pick about it is just plain stupidity. Use a word filter that eliminates it completely if you are going to cry over something so trivial. Fuck ****

Censoring software is fun. You can make it do all kinds of things. I used to go to a forum where one member every day could choose a phrase to have changed to a different phrase. Many members had trouble catching on to the concept, though it was widely publicized.

Example: "hardcore" replaced with "fashion show"

Yeah, I really like fashion show music.
People who are into the fashion show scene are cooler than crust punks.
You're so fashion show.
Every time I type fashion show it shows up on the forum as fashion show. WTF??

Another fun one was the replacement on July 1 of "Canada Day" with something filthy involving buckets of ejaculate. Good times.

Even sensible use of censoring software can be pretty bad--I've seen Calimshite get censored on various BG forums.

And let's not forget the classic censoring: TeamBG used to have fwstudios.net changed to poopy.net. Which turned out to be a porn site. Sigh.

Why do you have to censor it anyway? Don't get me wrong I think everybody can ban people has he/she likes in their fora. Being censored for your opinions about modding is one thing (which I clearly object to), but something akin to 'You are a <favourite expletive> for suggesting clerics with swords' is not free speech.

I personally just don't think swearwords do anything but blur the message, but it is your call. I think the fora which largely ignore trolls (like Cam and his ilk :-P ) may have happier admins or are already 'downmarket' and have happy admins.

Type an asterisk, everyone knows you've uttered an expletive. Even little kids know this. I can imagine them running up to their mothers squealing "Mommy, Daddy typed an asterisk! What does that mean?" And Daddy would have to go wash his hands with soap.

I'm being moderately rude and silly here. But I'm stuck at work, I'm bored, and I found that thought amusing for a few seconds. After being at work this long, I'll take any humor I can get.

Personally, I think swearing can be a reasonable language tool. Depending on the context used, it can deliver emotion, dry humour, indifference, any number of things.

What are you blabbering about? I lost interested after the fourth sentence. When one has a point ot make, please make it. Lectures are not the way to get a point across.

Blood Raven: wow this thread tempted you here didn't it? Hahaha. No wonder. You're (still) too immature to understand anything. You'll never grow up, certain people never do. ;)
The problem is, my words weren't meant to make any point to you.

On a side note, it's probably too much burden for you to interpret more than 4 sentences at the same time. If you really insist though, here are 2 sentences, which is only half of 4:
Could you do me a favor and stop being so condescending to other board members?  I find it offensive.  Many others do, too.  Please, Baronius, think of the minority and stop belittling people's intelligence when they disagree with you.  Disagreement does not constitute immaturity or stupidity, last I checked.

Why is this thread even happening?

The conclusion would seem to be:

- Baronius wants me to go to the forum he just unbanned me from and make some obscure change to a post from several days ago that he twice deleted. And he's going to do this by writing lots of things about respect.
- I don't really care.

While I appreciate everyone who can see my side of things, I'm not sure there's really much more that needs to be said on the matter, and for everyone's sanity I think we should work together to minimize the number of rhetorical questions that appear in a single post. :)

It is not about disagreement. I don't consider BR as my discussion partner. Whether you like or not. Someone who says I don't make a point and I'm blabbering, is not disagreeing. Just spamming. Those are not arguments.
I'm surprised she showed as much restraint as she did after you told her she was "(still) too immature to understand anything" and that "You'll never grow up.  Some people never do."  That was pretty fucking insulting and condescending where I'm coming from.
Quote
My points are summarized in my previous post, and detailed in the post before that one.
Both of which were punctuated by unnecessary personal attacks.  If you want the high ground, Baronius, you need to behave in a manner worthy of it.

Hmm, swearing is the new form of smiley. :) ;) 8) :pirate
True, swearing can do this and there are times, even with access to a reasonable vocabulary, when no other words will do the job.

jester: The best would be to cut out such words, and not adding asterisks. The best solution to those people who may feel offended is prohibit those words entirely, but this is another extreme. At BWL, the current recommendation (i.e. plz use *) is meant to be golden means.
Baronius has used the reference to this 'golden means' a couple of times now and I'm at a complete loss as to what it means.  Is it an obscure reference that I'm not getting, a lack in my education perhaps, something referring to 'doing unto others' or a request to cross one's palms with gold. ???

Edited for my bad spelling

He's saying that if Sim edits the profanity from his posts, he'll be "golden" (not banned).

Why is this thread even happening?
Because you wrote "fuck" instead of "f**k" one time too many.  Also, because you are a populist tool who simply CANNOT ACCEPT IT.
