Lots of Problems (Getting stuff to work)

Ok well, I followed the instructions to a T, as far as I know.

ToB installed and fully patched Including Baldurdash
IWD installed and fully patched
iwg2.exe SEEMS to work (takes roughly 2 minutes to complete, though with quite a few 'failures' popping up in the scrolling text.
New game works ok, talking to the NPC transports you to the cage, after a few seconds the protaganist falls over and then nothing happens. Irenicus doesn't come to talk to you, Imoen doesn't come to rescue you.

Ctrl-J'ing from the cell, Imoen can be found in the room with the golem and items just off the prison, she talks to you as if she'd come to save you if you initiate dialog with her and joins. No problems there. Jahiera is also working fine, can be rescued from her cell and has no qualms. Minsc doesn't exist. He's not in his cage. Not invisible either (as his usual dialog doesnt initiate at ALL). Upon trying to leave the room I run into 'Irenicus' who looks like a large yellow glowing egg with an aura. Talking to this npc initiates the dialog with Imoen when you rescue her from Irenicus much later in the game, crashing to desktop halfway through.

I'm assuming i've done something wrong and its not meant to be this way as I've seen screenshots with the minsc dialog and many with him ingame =/

I realize this post is from quite a ways back.

First off, I must say that it's quite impressive that you got as far as you did.  If you don't know already, IWG2 never quite worked due to a slew of insurmountable technical problems.  I can't quite tell which problem hit you here though.  I remember I did manage to get out of the sewers and even whent as far as trying to complete the quest to get Imoen before giving up.  There were far too many problem along the way though to make this worth repeating...
