There are too many words to read all that, but I skimmed it. After getting the basics, I do think I'm somewhat jealous that it's not anyone from PPG that's getting TeamBG to act like TeamBG. I'd hate for people to think we were mature.

Maybe Avenger will take Baronius out to lunch and expose him pubically.

There's a lot of thread to read. But I'm bored and grumpy.

There's a lot of stupid. Can we expect more from TeamBG in the future? I suspect so!

If we're chronicalling funny threads, I think this gives it a good run for its money.

The general structure of these threads seems to be:
1) Someone writes three words.
2) Baronius replies with three pages.
3) Repeat.

(There was actually more to the thread, but it has been CENSORED BY THE WYRM. The funny stuff is still there.)

Hey Sirkit took my usual part in chiming in on something he had no part in. How dares he? Putting a lot of drivel and methaphors which have nothing to do in the thread while they neither really please nor really offend anyone is my forté. While I love everything that is formally true and slightly irrelevant, I must insist that those sort of posts are hitherto marked as originating from me. Sort of.

Also it is illuminating how people cannot read properly:

I~gi: Copy+paste
Ba~r: I wrote it first, so I want to be recognized as the author
I~gi: okely, dokely
Av~enger: grrrr, waff, waff
[...]
Ba~r: Ahhhh what great injustice has been done unto me.
I~gi: ok I change it then
Av~enger: howl

[...]
Ba~r: No, you can take it just link to my site. (*Nudge, nudge* I link to yours, if you link to mine)
/Av~enger foaming

Names slightly changed to protect the innocents!
Luckily for those who enjoy non-modding posts without the usual suspects, the thread lingers on....

Jester, you are almost right, but actually it was Seif not Igi. And i don't mind Baronius, he was right, i got ticked off by Sikret who really behaves like the nice company in this thread above.

I fell alseep after a few posts read. Regardless the new TeamBG needs to die, and let the old one rest in peace until Ken resurrects it. I am no fan of Ken by any means but stealing someone's mod group name like this is tasteless and trying to be like the old mod community is a farce.

You want to make a new mod community fine, do so, but try being original with the name at least.

You do realize that the old TeamBG existed for a long time without Ken, right?

We have a saying in music that you're only as good as your last performance.

Since Ken personally chased away so many of us whether by banning, enforcing moronic rules (usually by banning), or just plain being a dick he is, for many people, the last performance of TeamBG.  Back in the day, I was lurking around and saw what was going on.  I can only say that I was pleased to see other modding groups arise, and ultimately surpass, TeamBG.  TeamBG may have started infinity engine modding, but what have they done recently?  What are they doing now?  I don't think that most of us actually give a flying fuck about who they were.  It's who they are now that's important.  Regarding good things coming out of the new and improved TBG........frankly, I'm not holding my breath.  Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see something...I just doubt it's actually going to happen.

I think the community can stomach another modding group. (Note: This is not a 'Can we all just get along?'-post)

I still like to point out that guest posting is a virtue. Even if it is just to allow Sim to follow up on threads in forums where he has been banned/suspended/exorcised.

The discussion about outdated modding tools and their dangers seems to have reached fruition in the sense that there might be a single place where they can be watched or worshipped according to allegiance or nostalgia.

Since my online persona is hard to be wronged substantially anyway, I understand old feuds and I can smell the faint yet sweet triumph in the air of those who were wronged, but I couldn't pull it off even if several lunch invitations would have been extended over the years, pubically or not.
I still believe that most farctures are good (War is the father of all and the king of all). Just imagine what would have happened. I witnessed first hand what a grand new start PPG had. Yeah, a lot of noteworthy archive stuff has been lost, but it is as good and shining as you can wish for. Look at the growth of G3, BWL, CoM,...
So much new stuff to mess up your game with. :D

So go forth and farcture people.

Me? I stayed mainly for the veal.

1. stealing ken's site: don't think so, the 'new' teambg has 3 old members, plus Seif. There are no more active old tbg-ers around.

2. old tools: there have been a demand for old tools. To be honest, i didn't like those requests, because i believe anything those old tools can do, could be done with dltcep and better.

3. new tbg's merits: igi already churned out some new tools, that fill large gaps in area modding. While i didn't check them, if they work as advertised, they could really mean the breakthrough towards serious TC's :)
