Like, is it possible to have a computer "too good" for the game?

Not to our knowledge.
I hope you're testing (or going to) on high-end NVidia and Ati cards - NVidia 7xxx and later have the gremlins on the IE games.

multi-processor setup (we experimented with two threads, it didn't help)
You Weimer is recalling that OCaml threads time-share on the same core and thus won't speed up on SMP machines?

Just wondering how things are going.  I haven't seen any Monday, newsletter, updates in a while.  I miss them.  :(
If it means they are instead diverting the time for writing those into actually making the game, keep them missing  :)

As both the site and the forums are online now, it looks as jcompton is still paying the bills, so PPG is really quite alive.

what connection is there between the possible downfall of ppg and the release of tbh?
(and yes, i am aware several prominent ppg modders, and indeed the owner of the website, work at planewalker games)

Is there a forum for TBH or PWG? I can't seem to find one...

None for now. There's a forum for developers(or people who are kind of like developers), it's closed, password-protected and everything.

There is a group of testers who have (limited) access, though.

Sorcerers.net has a third-party forum for the game, the first I know of. PWG will operate a forum at the game's release, or at least when it's a bit more imminent.

Site shouldn't be down, works here, although there were intermittent issues.

And no, it hasn't been abandoned. Still slogging along.

Like I told someone over at the Amber board who was prodding poor Meira, I imagine that JCompton and company would tell us if they felt they had something awesome enough to report.  That said, TBH will likely be out precisely when JCompton and company feel that it is the quality of product they want to release.

For one, I'll gladly give you my money when the game is out.  Keep on chugging along.

It doesn't mean folks can't inquire how things are going.

BTW, there's one thing I was curious about since very long ago, but kept forgetting to ask. Some of TBH's screens show very familiar graphics. Did they just choose to close their eyes (provided they've seen it at all), or you've actually had to pay for copyrights?

All the graphics are brand new work by a very talented team of artists.
