Editing kits?
« on: March 06, 2006, 12:29:00 PM »
I bet this has been asked a hundred times... but anyway...

I want to change or create a kit so that I get a thief/sorceror-ish class. Or simply a sorceror that can dual class (to sorceror, not necessarily from). I can't stand the whole memorize-per-day spell system. I've looked around for tools and tutorial but haven't found anything that works. Also it would be cool to change some weapons and armour restrictions for classes... (I have just installed tutu, if that matters).

Possible? If so, how?

Thanks

Check out the druidic sorcerer, that should give you an idea of what you will need to do.

Is the druidic sorcerer forum.

Talks about making other kinds of sorcs.

Actually, the easiest way to do would probably be to modify the character via ShadowKeeper, and forget making a hybrid class, but I'm not sure, since I use a mac.

Note: If you bet it's been asked 100 times, use the search function. It's handy.  :P

Thanks... but I don't get it. :-\

I've looked at the kit creation tutorial... but it's rather confusing... and what if I only want to change a kit or class, not create a new one?
Like, giving the regular Mage the sorcerors spell-gaining and spell-casting ability. No adding new spells or abilities, no restriction changes, nothing special at all. Just a mage with a sorcerors spell-casting and gaining...  ;D

As far as I know that would all have to be scripted in as inates, which is why there aren't 10 modified sorc kits, since it would be a gaint pain. You should try ShadowKeeper, start as a sorcerer perhaps, then change class to a mage? I don't know much about it though.

Unfortunately, this one is hard coded. :-[  The druidic sorcerer was doable because it directly altered the sorcerer class and all it's additions came in the form of additional spells or innates.  You could do the same thing to approximate a thief/sorcerer, but he wouldn't be able to use any of his thieving skillz.
