Shazzellim
« on: February 12, 2006, 09:55:18 PM »
Jaheira hasn't responded to my having Shazzellim in my inventory.  Now granted when I got it, there about a million things going on...two romance interludes, ghouls that were kicked out of the house by Viconia's Turn Undead and spamming the text box with ineffective attacks on Aerie, etc.,.

Is this on a timer, or is there a variable that I can check, or should I just be patient for a bit and it will happen?

Thanks,
Cirerrek

I did a search through all my third party programs and found nothing (DLTCEP, Infinity Explorer, NearInfinity) that would allow jaheira to detect sw1h50 and interact with the party.  The only thing I found with sw1h50 in it was:
Code: [Select]
IF
Global("D0JahShaz","GLOBAL",4)
GlobalTimerExpired("D0JahShazTimer","GLOBAL")
PartyHasItem("sw1h50")
OR(8)
AreaCheckObject("AR0020",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0300",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0400",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0500",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0700",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0800",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR0900",Player1)
AreaCheckObject("AR1000",Player1)
CombatCounter(0)
THEN
RESPONSE #100
SetGlobal("D0JahShaz","GLOBAL",10)
CreateCreatureObjectOffScreen("d0jahrev",Player1,0,0,0)
CreateCreatureObjectOffScreen("d0jahre2",Player1,0,0,0)
CreateCreatureObjectOffScreen("d0jahre2",Player1,0,0,0)
CreateCreatureObjectOffScreen("d0jahre2",Player1,0,0,0)
END

in BALDUR.BCS.  There are numerous dialogs I found but I can't find the script that will start Jaheira's initial speech.

Also, I found if you really want to do this quest, you can make sure that the following conditions are met:
Code: [Select]
Global("D0JaheiraBernardShaz","GLOBAL",0)
InParty("Jaheira")
OR(2)
Global("D0JahShaz","GLOBAL",5)
Global("D0JahShaz","GLOBAL",6)
And then go talk to Bernard.  Then you can either give it to him, or keep it.

It's in jaheira.bcs, and yes, it's on a timer. She should recognize it pretty swiftly if it's identified, and take rather longer if not.

Hmmm, it was identified and the quest never did fire.

It worked perfectly the time or I've tried the quest before.  I'll chalk it up to randomness and see what happens in the new game I've started.

Thanks,

The quest still isn't firing off on another go around.

As far as I can tell,

GlobalTimerExpired("D0JahShazTimer","GLOBAL")

is only checked in Baldur.bcs, but it is never set anywhere.

[Edit]Scratch that, the jaheira.baf in the quest pack folder does have a segment that should set this timer.[/Edit]

I'm guessing that something is overwriting the file after quest pack is installed.
