Ascension content mainly aimed at Good/Neutral?
« on: February 14, 2006, 07:29:07 AM »
I installed Ascension before I ever played TOB, and so my first time through TOB was with Ascension. After playing through it, and enjoying it very much, I went to skim over Dan Simpson's TOB walkthrough. I was amazed that besides the changes to the final battle, and the changes the Longer Road mod implemented, there didn't seem to be any difference.

Much of the additional content seemed to be for redeeming Sarevok, or Viconia, and stuff dealing with Imoen, and then also the ability to ally yourself with Balthazar. I realized I experienced none of this because my party was evil. I kept Sarevok evil, promising him power. I didn't want Imoen in the party. Viconia's TOB romance, at least the path I took, was really short and rather unsatisfying. I straight up killed Balthazar.

Did I miss out on 80% of Ascension's added content because I did everything evil?

Also, I think I missed out on some because the Longer Road mod puts Irenicus into my party, so I don't have that bit of Ascension fun.

Sarevok' redemption, Viconia alignment change and Imoen Bhaal powers are part of standard TOB, not Ascension. For Sarevok and Imoen, Ascension just assures you that these events will happen (in standard TOB they were random).

Ascension's new content is :
- Improved battles with Illasera, Gromnir, Yaga-Shura, Abazigal (optional)
- Improved final battle
- Possibility to ally with Balthazar
- Possibility to ally with Bodhi
- Improved "Slayer" form
- New Bhall power for the protagonist
