I neglected to mention the other day that SimDing0 has submitted his quest based on the "mysterious vial."  It will tie up the loose end in vanilla BG1, and, for the likely Tutu port of the mod, will come with an added bonus.

Almost all of the "unarmed creature" errors have been fixed--the ones that we've found, at least.

All of the "unused items" have been restored, unless they were crap to begin with.

I've made a few name changes to some of the Nashkel establishments.

I'm not going to answer that.  I'm posting progress reports as I go.  It'll be done when it's done.

The more you ask, the longer it will take.  :)

Barring any major coding screwups, Shilo Chen and the ogre-magi have been restored.

By borrowing CamDawg's code, I'm trying to restore the racial immunity that elves and half-elves have toward charm and sleep spells.  It might not be possible to do in BG1, though it might have been added with TotSC.

You may borrow my method, if you like.

He did, but it was just an override dump method.  CamDawg developed the code to patch the files, not overwrite them.

It's been a bit slow lately, but I was able to restore the  "Edie, the Merchant League Applicant" component and fix a few more store-related issues.

I've also scrapped a lot of stuff that was discovered during research, as some were just too much work for too little return.

I've managed to get a bit more work done this weekend.  Two minor encounters, "Feldane, an Old Friend" and "The Scolding Farmer" are coded.  I've also made corrections to the reward given by Albert and removed the duplicated/pickpocket-able Longbow of Marksmanship.

I've reworked Arkion's dialog a bit to reflect the addition of female corpses in the sewers.  I've also reworked Scar's dialog a bit to flesh out the fact that the Sashenstar's daughter is among the missing people in the city.

Coding for new material is complete for the release of version 1.  The current list of components is as follows:

  • Ice Island Level Two Restoration
  • The Mysterious Vial
  • Additional Elminster Encounter
  • Angelo Notices Shar-teel
  • Finishable Kagain Caravan Quest
  • Coran and the Wyverns
  • Kivan and Tazok
  • Branwen and Tranzig
  • Safana the Flirt
  • Appropriate Albert and Rufie Reward
  • Place Entar Silvershield in His Home
  • Scar and the Sashenstar's Daughter
  • Quoningar, the Cleric
  • Shilo Chen and the Ogre-Magi
  • Edie, the Merchant League Applicant
  • Flaming Fist Mercenary Reinforcements
  • Creature Corrections
  • Creature Restorations
  • Creature Name Restorations
  • Minor Dialog Restorations
  • Audio Restorations
  • Store, Tavern and Inn Fixes and Restorations
  • Item Corrections and Restorations
  • Area Corrections and Restorations
  • Permanent Corpses
  • Elven Charm & Sleep Racial Immunity
  • The Original Saga Music Playlist Corrections

I still need to do a bit of "touch up" coding, as well as write the documentation, but none of that should take too long.  Very soon (and please do not PM me about it yet--you will be ignored) I will put out the call for BG1 beta testers.  While it is being tested on vanilla BG1, I will work on the conversion of the mod to Tutu, which really shouldn't take long, either.

So, barring any unforeseen tragedies, the first version of BG1/Tutu Unfinished Business should be released very soon.  :)

Really, truly, completely, utterly, passionately waiting with anticipation for the Tutu version of this mod. No pressure; I can wait for months(or even years if necessary) -- just letting you know that your work is appreciated by a multiple-player constituency. Thank you! 8)

I have a feeling I may have asked about this a long time ago but, as you no doubt already know, some of the NPC-related additions are also in the BG1NPC Project, e.g. Angelo Notices Shar-teel and Finishable Kagain Caravan Quest.  Will the UB installer detect the BG1 versions if they're present and not offer the relevant components, or are you just going to have a warning in the readme?

Ideally, BG1NPC would take precedence over UB if installed. It's easy for us to add a check for BG1NPC, but if BG1NPC is installed last it might still cause an awkward mess. I suggest that BG1NPC should UNINSTALL the respective UB components.
