Mix Mod v4
ABOUT
This is a small collection of various tweaks/fixes, many of them were done before, but here they're done a bit more differently, giving user more control over the changes.
Most of them will work with any IE game - exept two (True Grand Mastery & Modified Shapeshifting Fix) that will work only with BG2/Tutu (and won't install if you run them in a different folder)
One of the components - Increased HP for Non-Joinable NPCs - was before realised separetly as IE Games Harder Mod, this install will remove that mod if you have it.
COMPONENTS
Next to the component's name are listed compatible games. Note that upon running this mod all components incompatible with your current game will be skipped automatically.
1. Increased Ammo Stacks - All IE Games.
This one was designed for those for whom unlimited stacks seems too much of a "cheat". You can increase the stacks by 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750% of the original game vaule.
You can also DEcrease Ammo stacks by 50% (so all hard-core BG1 fans can have their stacks in BG2 effectively as in BG1)
2. Increased Gem and Jewelry Stacking - All IE Games.
This one was designed for those for whom unlimited stacks seems too much of a "cheat". You can increase the stacks by 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750% of the original game vaule.
3. Increased Potion Stacking - All IE Games.
This one was designed for those for whom unlimited stacks seems too much of a "cheat". You can increase the stacks by 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750% of the original game vaule.
4. Increased Scroll Stacking - All IE Games.
This one was designed for those for whom unlimited stacks seems too much of a "cheat". You can increase the stacks by 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750% of the original game vaule.
5. Increased HP for Non-Joinable NPCs - All IE Games.
This component gives all creatures (also friendly ones, with the exeption of the joinable NPCs and a squirell or two;)) a bonus to their HP. You can choose how high this bonus is: 25, 50, 75, 100, 150%. This is done due to the fact that the difficulty slider in the game only gives your enemies boost to damage* (in many situations you won't even notice this due to the easiness of killing them or their poor chance of hitting you). With higher hit points the enemies should prove more of a challenge, and the damage boost in higher difficulties more noticable (since they'll have more chances of dealing their increased damage). I chose to include "friendly" characters in the increased HP since, after all you may (and sometimes should - chaotic-evil) want to fight them.
*Notably in IWD2 difficulty gives also bonus to chance to hit and resistances, on the other hand in IWD1 on
higher difficulty levels you get more XP (which can mean that in some situations higher levels are actually easier)
SUMMONS - Note that the additional HP will be also given to summoned creatures, both by you and your enemies. This makes Summon spells a bit more useful, in the future version I'll add a component that will make enemy mages use summons more often to balance things out.
6. True Grand Mastery - Baldur's Gate 2/Tutu
Similiar to the one from Ease-of-Use but this one allows you to choose if you want the extra half-attack and the to-hit and damage bonus you had
in BG1 and IWD or you can leave out the extra attack for balance purposes.
7. Modified Shapeshifting Fix - Baldur's Gate 2/Tutu
This is the modified version of the best ever Shapeshifting Fix - the one from Refinements Mod (WeBpage:
http://www.refinements.tk/)
While this fix is almost perfect it does one thing I disagree with - Druids heal themselves upon coming back to their natural form. I've always felt that it was the "animalistic" spirit that heals the druid (this is how it is interpreted in IWD1 BTW), so I changed the healing to occur when the druid shapeshifts
This component should be installed afer the Refinements. Original readme from Refinements can be found in Mix_Mod\Docs\
8. Turn off Startup Movies for IWD1 - Icewind Dale
Tired of clicking through logos/movies at game startup? After installing this component they'll be automatically skipped. All of them (exept Black Isle & TSR Logo) can still be accessed through in-game "movies" menu.
NOTE!!!: Due to current weidu limitation this component will not work correctly (unless with HoW, maybe with vanilla). If the movies still play after installing this, please go to your game directory and run the file IWD1_movies_off.bat.
Should you want to revert back to original state run IWD1_movies_on.bat
9. Turn off Startup Movies for IWD2 - Icewind Dale II
Tired of clicking through logos/movies at game startup? After installing this component they'll be automatically skipped. All of them (exept Black Isle Logo) can still be accessed through in-game "movies" menu.
10. Turn off Startup Movies for BG2 - Baldur's Gate 2/Tutu
Tired of clicking through logos/movies at game startup? After installing this component they'll be automatically skipped. All of them (exept Black Isle & WOTC Logo) can still be accessed through in-game "movies" menu.
11. Turn off Startup Movies for PS:T - Planescape: Torment
Tired of clicking through logos/movies at game startup? After installing this component they'll be automatically skipped. All of them (exept Black Isle & TSR Logo) can still be accessed through in-game "movies" menu.
12. Helmets for Shapeshifters Bug Fix - Baldur's Gate 2/Tutu
Kensai and mages cannot wear armour and thus they cannot wear helmets. Shapeshifters cannot wear armour but can wear helmets. If this bothers you, then install this one.
