Assertion errors..
« on: May 26, 2005, 02:54:17 AM »
..what are they? I get them intermittantly. Usually in large battles(lots of summons). Repeated 'assertions' in Cloakwood1(the Druid battle at Sashenstars), the Drizzt battle, and, for some reason, a bandit battle in Peldvale, though I didn't use summons(but wolves did join that battle).

Whoops, forgot about this. Assertion errors are serious errors of all sorts that make the game shut down. I only received a few of them when I played through the mod and I fixed those so I would like you to write down the exact message of the assertion error as that might help me find out what is wrong.

I wrote one of the errors down. I got this error at least twice, but I don't remember which battle. I think it was the druid battle in front of Sashenstar's lodge...

More assertion errors, i.e.

When you CLUA a recruitable NPC in and try to save, you get an assertion and crash to desktop. The error is the same as above,,, but at line 8407.
I tried Yeslick, Coran, and Viconia....they all gave the same error.
You also get the fault if you try to change maps, presumably because the game trys to autosave.

Add: This may be a known bug. I completely uninstalled,,then re-installed BG. I started a new game WITHOUT FotD loaded, CLUA'd Yeslick in, and crashed when I tried to save.
