'tips' cluttering dialogue window

Is there any way to stop the helpful tips about playing the game from littering the dialogue window.  Not sure if this is Tutu related, but does anyone know how to make it stop?

Do you mean like what's displayed when you load a new area?  As far as I know, that's stuck there.  Maybe try something in the options screen.

I get these constantly during the game, not just when screens are loading.  I never played BG2 much but it strikes me as odd.  Am I supposed to be seeing these messages only when screens are loading (same as NWN)?

Do you get it in areas without any other creatures?

I think what might be happening is that, say, a cat is going "miaow", but instead of using the textless string as in BG1, it has some other random line of text.

I get it everywhere, all the time.
