Just because a mod is in WeiDU format does not necessarily mean it is compatible with everything else.

I've never played TDD, so I don't know what all it installs, but I do know that UB's kits will not work with TDD, since TDD uses up all available kit slots.  The Suna Seni component is incompatible with Tortured Souls, WeiDU or not.

TDD-WeiDU doesn't work properly (I have just been investigating it), so I'd recommend not trying for now.

Also, I remember someone confirming it does not work properly with the non-WeiDU version.

@ icelus    I understand these things but what if kits were made optional    which is I beleive was one of the things that horred was making in bp       and if I am not mistaken and as far as TS being compatible I believe (correct me if i am wrong ) that tdd and ts are both in the bp and bgt and they are compatible

@Andyr    yes you are correct non weidu conversions are not compatible      and from reading your post    a new  tp2 file was needed correct

so if both of these things were done barring normal bugs then they could be compatible
am I correct (in theory at least) with any of this

No, I'm just saying that the Suna Seni component of UB is supposedly incompatible with the Valygar Romance contained within Tortured Souls.  I'm well aware that Big Picture hacks together the various large mods so that they're presumably compatible with each other.

Some of the components which are currently not compatible could probably be made compatible, yes. :)

I could be wrong, but I believe the new WeiDU TS, TDD and SoS still overwrite a lot of stuff which they could append/extend instead.  Of course I can fully understand why Vlad/Horred didn't change this, since it would be one heck of a lot of work.

Anyway, I'd strongly recommend still installing these three mods (as well as the forthcoming BGT WeiDU) before any other WeiDU mod.

So is the UB mod broke up into individual "addons" (maybe not the appropriate word) so if someone wanted to add your mod they couild chose not to incoraporate that indiviual portion like some other weidu do? Or is this already an option in word mod?

 :)

Yes, Unfinished Business is divided into 20+ components, so you can pick and choose exactly which components to install.  A readme is available both packaged with the mod as well as on the PPG UB page that will give more in-depth information on each component.

The Feralan and Justifier will, yeah.

But for the rest since it is restoring cut BG2 content there's not really any point installing it... :P

UB compatible with Chosen of Cyric encounter (Rogue Rebalancing) ?

Thought I'd ask before installing as I can't find a compatibility listing for UB, although that may be due to the fact that I'm an idiot.

Cheers.

Compatibility question
« Reply #39 on: December 12, 2005, 01:44:40 PM »
Heya, I just installed UB 14 on my BGII:ToB install. I went with all the optional items for UB.
Now I see a mod over at weidu called the Ease-Of-Use mod. Do you know if this Ease-Of-Use mod is compatible with UB or not? I don't wanna have to re-install BGII if the two aren't compatible.

Thanks.

They should be, but be sure to install Ease of Use *before* UB.

Mod Installation Order
« Reply #42 on: April 22, 2007, 09:46:10 AM »
Hello folks,

I  haven't used a lot of mods in the past, but would like to give them a try.  I'm thinking of using the following mods.  Is there any special order I should install them in?  Any help is appreciated.

BG2 Fixpack
Unfinished Business
Questpack
Tactics
Ascension

- Lepto

I recommend: BG2ToB Fix pack, Ascension, Unfinished business, Quest Pack in that order, but I'm not sure what Tactics qualifies as in the rule-of-thumb Fixpacks/Quest Mods/NPC mods/Tweak Mods...  I'm guessing it would come after Ascension, but I'm not absolutely 100% certain.
Anyone? ???

Your order is almost right. Just move Quest Pack at the bottom of that list as only variation (see also http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,21925.0.html)

Thanks for the replies.  I'm not entirely sure if Salk is approving my order or Eleima's, but unless I hear otherwise I guess I'll go with:

BG2 Fixpack
Unfinished Business
Tactics
Ascension
Questpack

If that doesn't work I'll try Eleima's order.  Thanks again for the tips.

Banter pack should come last in your list.  Remember to follow the rule of thumb, Fixpacks/Quest Mods/NPC mods/Tweak Mods.
BG2 is a fixpack; UB, QP are Quest Mods, as is Ascension, but it is strongly recommended that you install Ascension as close up to the top of the list as possible.  Banterpack is a NPC mod.  Tactics looks like a Quest Pack, but don't quote me on that one.  So I'd recommend:
BG2 Fixpack
Ascension
Unfinished Business
Questpack
Tactics
Banterpack

Also remember to check relevant threads, such as Installation Orders and What are your recommended mods?.  I guess this post doesn't really belong in UB but in Mod Discussion and Announcements. :)

I would recommend:

- BG2 Fixpack
- Unfinished Business
- Banter Pack
- Ascension
- Tactics (which is not at all a quest pack but a collection of AI/strategical improvemtns - I would recommend you use Big Picture at SHS instead of Tactics: see http://forums.spellholdstudios.net/index.php?showforum=192)
- Quest Pack
