problem with journal / questlog (doesn't update)

I installed bgtutu and got everything to work like it should, it looks very nice. However, when I take on quests or when my journal gets updated some other way, there is nothing there. My journal/questlog stays empty. This makes the game unplayable, does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

What is the prologue? It's at the start, I start with my main character outside an inn, and I go in and talk to some people, then my console says journal updated but my journal says nothing.

Right,t hat's the prologue.  Journal entries don't work in chapter "0" in BG2, so that's a bug.  Our fix (slated for v14) will be to remove all notification of journal entries, since, y'know, they don't get added.  Once you leave Candlekeep you'll be fine.
