People start crying and blaming the unlucky 13...

NEVER FEAR. DING0 IS STILL HERE.

But not really working on UB. Maybe that doesn't count.

If you reinstall, the old components will just be uninstalled first.

But with the ongoing help of Cliffette, Barren Fischa and everyone else who's contributed with research and code to UB I am confident that we can keep Icelus' legacy held in the high esteem it deserves.

I don't post that often, but I am veryt tempted to ask this question:

what would be the direction of the mod, oh omnipotent authority figure? ;D
For an example, is there still someone working on the Aerie's quest? What will we be expecting from Andyr's glorious reign?

The direction of the mod will be to carry on in largely the same fashion as before. :)

What is this Aerie quest you mention? I don't recall one, though I probably don't remember all the threads. ;)

Stuff hopefully in the next version, though, will include a fixed Czech translation, more Wish options, and restored Cernd/Deril stuff. And probably more.

I think the Aerie quest is the one where you could turn her into a bird.

Ah, yeh, that.

Well, as far as I know, nothing at present.

Deganawida and myself had begun working on this, but we had to stop since his wife was having a baby. I'm telling you, it's a lot of work (especially rewriting all of Aerie's dialogs in a non-hesitant way to reflect her new personnality).

Just two cents from a non-modder's perspective:

How about triggering the event in such a way that she either leaves the party confidently or turns into a bird? The confident Aerie can be summoned in TOB, where she IS written to be more confident and self-assured. Sure, this makes her more or less a half-game character like Yoshimo, but this seems to be the easiest way around rewriting dialogues.

For those of whom that wishes to keep Aerie, too bad? Or perhaps PC could make a dialogue choices which determines whether the kidnapping occurs?

In that case, the player couldn't see the mod content without turning Aerie into a half-game character. IMO, Bioware wanted to avoid this, and that's why they removed some stuff from Aerie, Viconia, Imoen and Haer'Dalis. They wanted most NPCs to stick to your side.

Yes you can (although it can apparently cause a bug in the Boo kidnapping quest it you're in the middle of it).

UB13 uses a few new WeiDU commands that were not available in the latest WeiDU-Mac version at the time of 13's release.  I've not checked to see if a new version has been posted yet, but as soon as it is, we'll try to get the Mac version out ASAP.

for macintosh?
« Reply #46 on: November 18, 2004, 02:34:06 AM »
Hello to you all good lost souls of Baldurland. My first post at this board will be a question. No, first I want to thank you all for embelleshing and furthering my enjoyment of this great, engrossing game. Now, my question: Since v13 of UB isn't available for Macintosh, is there any way to get hold of an earlier, compatible version?

Thank you.

I would like to second this question and to further make it known that we mac-ers exist (again, yes, all 4 of us).   Just doing my best to keep interest for Mac compatible stuff alive.   ;)

All of the old releases of UB are available here: http://ub.icelus.net/download/

The reason v13 was not released in Mac format is that this version uses a few new WeiDU commands that are not present in the latest WeiDU-Mac program.  As soon as that program is updated, a new MacUB should be released, too.  :)
