Heh, mine was inspired by a comedy series here in the UK, Black Books.

One of the characters describes another as his "barely hominoid milk-fed gimp".  I'm awful at coming up with names and I first used "Milkfed the Mighty" in a game of Age of Wonders and then adopted it as a user name about a year later.

Kismet was the name of my first character in Asheron's Call back from 1999.  I needed a vaguely Arabic sounding name that was easy to type and remember and "Kismet" fit the bill.  Now I use it everywhere.

I always thought it came from the word 'kismet' or something like that.

There's a store a few blocks from my house called Kismet.  They sell trendy women's clothes, or something.  Nothing of interest, at any rate.

A statement that clothes are of no interest is clearly a flame. It can only spark outrage, as when someone says "You only need one pair of black shoes" or supports Kelsey-bashing.

Well, yeah, ultimately I pulled it from the dictionary (IIRC, kismet = fate)

I actually didn't give myself the nickname Imoen. After I dyed my hair red for the first time, my dad started calling me "Little Immy" After a while, it stuck.  "Nightflame" came from the Baldur's Gate strategy guide. The example character that they used was named Diana Nightflame. I liked the ring of it, so I stole it.
Oh, Rainbow Hitler, you're so dreeeeamy!

I could deny it but the evidence is against me.

Kismet: did you need a vguely Arabic sounding name because you are vaguely Arabic, or was it your character?

ImoenNightflame: does this mean your dad played BG? Or is there some other Immy he was referring to?

We have a Kismet here too. I think it does curry though.

Maybe you can go and get your trendy consignment clothes then sit down for a curry dish of some sort.  Now that's interesting.  Like coffee shops in book stores, only not.

I think every shop should try to sell a decent curry nowadays no matter what else they are peddling.

I suppose now's as good a time as any to mention that I don't like curry.  Donuts, on the other hand...

While this is an idea of great merit - the more good curries there are available the better- I have to say that it wouldn't work for me.
Firstly, all the clothes would smell of curry.  Secondly, buying clothes is a rapid process for me. Go in, that's nice, it fits, pay, get out. Curry however requires at least one other person, pondering, tasting, comparing, bottles of wine/beer (depending how hot it is) and roti bread to get full enjoyment from it. You can't do that in 5 minutes. Thirdly, shopping involves going to more than one shop. You can't eat that many curries in one day.
Donuts wouldn't work, because the clothes rapidly won't fit you. While this plot might interest capitalist imperialist running dogs, as a means of greatly increasing consumerism, as a pinko lefty I can't endorse it.

Suggestion: Bookstore/needlework/curry/donut shop.
You would need to supply living-rooms and beds. People would never leave. St.Jo's shop would have the same problem: an overly devoted clientele.

We have a Knit-Wit store here, no books though. I can't read and knit at the same time, so it's just as well.

Ahh yes...shrimp curry, garnished with Major Grey's chutney sauce  ;)

I've two, online "nomme de guerre's" (spelling?) I use intermittently online - "CDRSeadog" (should be somewhat self-explanatory how I came by that one), and "Kristophe" (which is the Germanic version of my real name - Christopher, and a name I come by honestly - being as I am half German/half Russian by descent).
