I always thought they were crepes... If I suddenly found out they were pancakes it would just be so.... mundane... :'(

<BDG>

They are, technically speaking, flapjacks.  You know... from TeamFlapjack?  It's too bad there wasn't an official chronographer for IE modding, so people could learn the history.

So, Necaradan, you're going to keep your K-Mart porn avatar.  ::)

I wonder why all the other boys who post here don't have one... I'm just popping off now to read that stuff about sexual harassment on the Net, and the strange phenomen that some women find cyberspace an unwelcoming environment. Which hasn't been the case here at PPG...Could there be a connection?

Okay, bearing in mind that I've been awake since 4 a.m. for work, I think I've figured this out.  Having a hot chick avatar is sort of like playing as a female in, say, Morrowind.  I think I heard an explanation once that it's sort of like having eye-candy to look at while trekking across the same boring trade-route for the millionth time.  So, if he gets bored while reading the forum, he can just twitch his eyes to the left and be less bored.

Of course, the logical way of doing this without offending sensitive people would be to not maximise the browser window, have a hot chick as the left-most bit of one's desktop wallpaper, and yeah.

I can't say I play games with female characters for the eye candy particularly.

However, Morrowind gains much credit for allowing you to run around cities in your pants.

See why we like it here? (well originally, it was just for Kelsey.)

In NWN boy-people used to say they preferred looking at a female bum when playing third person view.

The only thing about running around in your undies is that it takes a long time to put your armour back on in MW.

You can remedy that by assigning no 3D model to your armour in the editor.  :P
Most handy for helmets. Does it count as peeping if I want to see the face of my character? :D

Or you just do what I do, don't wear a helmet and then stand around for a long time until the rotating 3D view comes on.  ;D

I've always been the kind of person not to judge others, myself, but I find the avatar... bothersome... for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it is an *avatar*, a respresentation of the user... I mean, is he trying to say he is a scantily clad bikini model?

And as for the eye candy factor, this is true... However, how would we men feel if there were suddenly an batch of avatars depicting Chippendale's dancers or Hunky Firemen?

Personally, my favorite avatar to this day is the Pikachu-on-Pikachu violence that Echani(?) uses :D This of course depicts the eternal struggle between the user's Id and Ego, a popular theme last thoroughly explored in Superman III with the junkyard battle between the Bad Superman and the Good Clark... But I digress..

Eral: I never have that patience. I usually resort to the Tab key.
Especially as I have to divide my Morrowind time equally between dressing my character and furnishing the house(s).
Which are, I am certain, the real purposes of Morrowind. ;D

I have a naked woman in my avatar pic too, but she is standing right behind me and I had to crop the picture. :-\ I agree with the K-Mart tangent: Why not make it Giselle Bundchen for a start?

@Pikachu: Moving text and moving avatars are a good reason to turn off avatars althogether.

@ Caswallon: Obviously you are playing the Sims with the MW interface. ;)

Avatars a representation of the user. Remind me not to stand to close to you. Glowy swords make me nervous.

I have never thought of it that way: and I have always considered collecting clothes, armour and ornaments to be the main quest in MW.  Yet I can't be bothered with Sims. Maybe if they had swords...

ROFL... Fair enough :) Just to be clear, my problem with the image isn't in content, it's in context... Nothing personal, you understand :) But then again, I'm a relative newcomer to this board, so I have no right to tell you what to do... Just flapping my gums in the interests of universal entropy...

Btw wasn't superman3 about the giant computer?

Yep, and in it, Richard Pryor's character uses a satellite to get a spectrograph of a fragment of Kryptonite in space, in order to sythesize it. But one element is unknown, so he substitues tar... What ends up being created is a corrupted version of Kryptonite which turns the good Superman into a bad Superman, until finally Clark seperates himself from the bad Superman in some sort of bizarre metaphysical mumbo-jumbo scene, finally resulting in the good conquering the evil side... All this happens while Robert Vaughn's character uses Pryor's character's computer know-how to build a giant supercomputer in the desert which hijacks some MX Missiles...

God, I think I watch too much TV...

No kidding,  :-Zzz. I think we've answered Necaradan's original question, and then some, making this topic simply more and more redundant with every post.

Did I mention I hate redundancy?   :)

To please womens liberation groups and save precious children from being scarred for life I have been forced edit my avatar.

For the record, no one forced you to change anything but the voices in your head.   :)
