Hello my real name is Chris and I am new to the forums. I am a freelance artist specializing in pencil, pen, and ink drawings. I am a total AD&D nerd, although I can also bech press 350lbs, so I only let fellow RPGamers call me that LOL! I was very happy when I found this online community because it really is an excellent site! So many resources pertaining to mod making as well as EVERYTHING else! I am glad to be a part of it now and I am pleased to meet you all!

this isn't quite my first time on the forum, but pretty close. I am a noob too modding, i just installed ease of use on bg2 about a week ago, and i am a mac user. I like classic rock, politics (i am a liberal leftist, not socialist though), history, RPGs, books, and kendo (i am not part of a dojo, but i am a member of an amateur club thingy at school. WOOT) I also play tennis poorly and violin rarely. As is obvious from this description I have many interests, but pop culture and rap music i despise. oh, and i am an actor, not good, buti have a had a few lead roles in school plays. ya, have fun with that info you pedos :P
Pues, por fin, yo hablo un poco de espanol. Me gusta la lenguaje, pero mi maestra es una puta.

Not my first time either (or even my first second time, for that matter... if you catch my drift!), but as I am now back to stay and re-start my modding work on the "Chrysta" NPC mod over on SHS, I thought it would be exceptionally rude of my not to drop in and say hello again to PPG.  It has been a while (over eighteen months in fact) since I was last in a position to do any modding, having been without regular internet access for the better part of two years, but even if the interest in IE modding has waned significantly in the meantime, it still feels good to be back.  :)

And you may see me lurking a lot here over the next few weeks and months - methinks I have a LOT to catch up on!  ;D

Hi, I'm Bardess on some forums, Vixen on the Spellhold Studios and Jovana in real life  :)

Like many other people, I have been lurking around the forums for several years before actually doing anything. This year (january&february) I have decided to make a mod I have been missing all this time - an evil thief NPC romance. And that meant I had to learn coding and many other things as well. I have started. Let's see where the road leads  ;)

Hello everyone!
My BG2 mods:

Fiars the NPC, in progress.
Gladly accepting tips and tutorial links! xD

Moddie the Vixen, a one day NPC.

Hello.  I'm Clarion, I've lurked around reading forums for some time now, and finally decided I'd make my presence known.  People might also know me as BloodHeron on fanfiction.net.  I'm a verbose nutcase with a terrible weakness for caramel, and I have no life.  Other than that, I'm just a boring person with a foot-in-mouth disorder and an inherited snark gene that surfaces at the least opportune of moments  :-[  Eh-heh, beyond that, anyone can ask if they're curious.  So, uh, hello?
Don't let me cast Chromatic Orb anytime soon...  I'll either turn myself blue or summon dozens of squirrels...

Hay guys!
Er, my name is Kersti, but I usually go by Elanorea on teh internets. I've recently rediscovered the best CRPG of all time (ie. Baldur's Gate) and I've been hanging around various BG forums for a while. Anyway, as you can see, I decided to register here.
About me... well, I'm a very annoying person with no life ;D. That's about it, I guess.
Uh, as for modding, I've had relatively little experience. I have some ideas for NPCs, but I don't know jack shit about coding, so I don't know if I'll ever get around to making them. So yes, basically, I'm just going to hang around and get on everybody's nerves here. Because that's what I do.

Hm.. introduce myself. You know the thing with introductions.. people subconsiously use these to create a mental image when talking to the ones who post the introductions. Which often turn out.. wrong. But I'll try anyway.

I'm Gert Jan, nearly twentyfour years old and living in The Netherlands. That's a small country in Europe in case you were wondering. I ehm, like to read, Paulo Coelho and the like come to mind. Art, theatre, foreign movies and the like. As for profession, I'm a writer. Unplublished as of yet, but that won't stop me. Other than that, I'm gay, sensitive, emotional.. well you'll find out sooner or later.

Hi, I exist. Never posted here, either, so I might as well.

Started playing the BG games at the age of eight. It's been a long seven years and I still haven't gotten sick of them. I was around before PPG, I think. Kelsey was the first mod I ever installed, quite a long time ago. (Aside from the Baldurdash fixpack, that is.)

I have the ideas but not really the motivation or the copious amounts of free time/patience to learn how to code and write my own mods. I'm a reader, a writer, and an artist. I have a natural talent for seeing spelling and grammar issues and fixing them.

I'm also available to do voice acting if anyone ever needs a fairly/relatively young-sounding female voice actor.

Hmm,

Well I've never said much of anything, on these boards but I've been lurking around for about half a decade or so, if you count the old forgotten wars site.  I've been playing games  forever well my version of forever which is back to my earliest memories of the atari and C-64.

I've recently realized that I'm in my 30's now, how that fact slipped by me for so long leaves me puzzled, time flys while your having fun I guess. I work for the post office so when your mail is running late you can always blame me for staying up to late playing games and then napping on the job.

The baldurs gate series of games has always been my favorite along with planscape torment and the fallout series of game, which is what keeps me comming back to here, I've thourghly enjoyed the mods that have been produced here and would like to offer my thanks for all the time and hard work that you all have put into them, and for the support all those of you who are much more vocal than I, have given them.  :P

Hi folks I'm Lee from sunny little England.
Been playing BG for well it feels like forever and yesterday all rolled into one. Been lurking about the forums and downloading mods for about 2 or 3 weeks now and didn't realise BG was still so popular. Been offline for about 2 years so the fact I can still get mods for a game thats lets face it pretty old (but aging well ;D ) is pretty amazing.
I'm 28. Live in the North East of England so if your from outside the country or the North East and heard me talk you wouldn't understand a damn thing I was saying.
Got a loverly little 6 month old called Gabriel (who's daddies little star) and a loving partner who cares not a bit for the funny little pixel people I play around with but lets me get on with it all the same.
I haven't got the web at the minute so am using works so be realllll quiet sometimes and full of responces at others so bare with me till the end of feb.
Anyway thanks for all the hard work on the mods and keep up the good work.

Later

P.S. Keto and Xan....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks for them.

Hello, my name is Zeevico and I play BG 2 to avoid writing uni essays. I feel like wearing a tag saying: stereotype alert.
Je never learnt much French.
Workin' my way through the Nalia romance at the moment. It's entertaining for all involved.
My Property Law essay will be gold. It will tell you so much about carbon sequestration rights in Australia, you won't want to know anymore, EVER. And trust me, that's tough.
Cos there's lots to know. Are they profits a prendre? Profits a rendre? Restrictive covenants? *Giggles like a schoolgirl* SO MUCH FUN!
Seriously, I enjoy writing essays. In a "sickening challenge that torments my soul" sort of way.

Hello everyone I'm wereturnip, a long time fan of the game. I'm currently helping mod Dawn of War with the Vostroyan Firstborn team. I'm originally from Wales (Powys) but live in the states currently. I am (eventually) looking to help do some mods, but for right now I'm just enjoying the great ones already created. Cheers to all ;D

Hi,
I'm a 40 year OLD complete 'noob' from England who bought his first PC back in 1998, just in time to play Baldur's Gate : the game I'd waiting for since becoming a gamer on an old Dragon 32 (remember ? - probably not !) home computer at the age of 14. Computers may have moved on dramatically but games have not IMO : the IE games are for me still the greatest games ever written, although I've also enjoyed a number of others ( the X-Com series, DeusEx, the Half-Lifes (though I'm not really into shooters, but you have to admire quality) , the original Tomb Raider, Civilzation, Thief : DS and a few others).

I'm barely computer-literate (many of my generation are) so I feel pretty humbled coming on this site but I'm rather excited about getting my IE games ( BG1+2, IWD1+2, Torment) to not only work on my new Vista system but also to look better and with mod-enhancements. I'll therefore mostly be 'lurking', researching mods etc. and I'll almost certainly need advice at some point(s!) So a big 'thanks' in advance to all the people who are dedicating themselves to keeping these great games alive : you deserve a lot of recognition for this.

As for me, I studied Philosophy at Warwick University in the early nineties and still read it 'casually' (if you can read philosophy casually) today, despite the fact that I find it (philosophy) just as depressing - though in a different way - as 'real life'. My favourite Baldur's Gate character must therfore be Xan the Enchanter, who is so gloriously depressed about everything it cheers me up no end every time I have him in my party. Where has this quality of writing gone in games ?  In my view the quality of writing in all the IE games is stunning. The music too : I'm thinking at this moment of the music that starts up when you enter the 'Watcher's Keep' area in BG2 ToB. Sadly, I believe that this was a Golden Age for computer games in general, and like all such ages it was destined to be brief. But I'm sounding too much like Xan again so I'll sign off. Good luck to everyone on this fantastic site !

Hey Lords and Ladies, nice to be here and all that Jazz...  I just thought I'd register to say thank you to everyone involved in Tut and Easy Tutu.  I recently purchased the Baldur's Gate 4-in-1 box set, having never played them before as I am only recently a PC owner so I've been catching up on all the great games that I've missed.  I have played the action-RPG's Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance I + II on the original Xbox, which I loved to bits and the old AD&D Gold Box adventure Role Playing Games on the Commodore 64.  Starting Baldur's gate, I was enjoying the gameplay but immensely frustrated that I could hardly see any of the playing area at all!  So discovering Easy Tutu (and waiting for the may release when I did) was a great moment :)

I've also gone on to install loads of the most popular mods, including the G3 dialogue ones, the original GUI mod and some various fixes from the tweak pack and the Sam Ding0 stuff.  It's definitely improved my experience (running in 1024x768 now I can see stuff! I think any more than that and it would be too small.)

I'm also a big fan of (unrelated but similar) Sacred Gold so I was pleased that that appears to be done in a similar style to BG, which must have inspired it.

The only thing that worries me is the Beregost issue.  I haven't visited there yet, and have memorised the rules of saving, going in, saving after you come out, reloading your original save and going in again to see if it crashes.  I know there will be posts about this a dozen times over, but having used the search engine I cannot find anything concrete.  I know that no one seems to know what makes the files corrupted.  I have read that there is a program that can de-corrupt your save file, but it doesn't work for everyone?  Is it possible somebody could provide me with a link to that tool? Also, any links to forum topics concerning the Beregost crash in more detail would be great, specifically what I am looking for to know that my save is corrupted.

Thanks folks, Tutu is great, the WeiDU installs are really easy and user-friendly and it's amazing that people put all this effort in.

Now, if only someone would write a high-res engine for Fall Out 2, maybe using the Tactics engine...  That would be something :D

Later folks

Hi. My name's Paul, and I've been enjoying Infinity Engine games for quite a few years now. I'm the sort of guy who installs as many mods as he can get away with, regardless of the implications on gameplay. I've often entertained a dream of reverse-engineering every single mod for a game ever and combining the content from each into a single, stable, cohesive and comprehensive mod (With fixes of course, otherwise the game wouldn't be stable or cohesive).

That said, I'm too much a writer and not enough (Read: Not at all) a coder. I create characters, locations, settings... Unfortunately, I'm also something of a procrastinator. Right at this minute however, I've got a single project...

Completing all of Icewind Dale, Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster on Insane difficulty on Heart of Fury mode... starting with level 1 characters. I'm doing quite well, actually.

Help!

I'm a complete and utter newbie to this site. Found it because I was looking for a great party-based CRPG to play and realized (sadly) that no one makes them any more. Figured I'd Google "Baldur's Gate" and see what kind of modding and such is going on. I played Baldur's Gate and BG2 when they came out and have never had so much fun playing a computer game.

Can someone fill me in on what I need to do to get started with the fun? I have so many questions....

Oh yeah: My name is David, and I'm from Riverside, California, and I like tomato basil soup.

Since you're already here and all, you might want to start by having a casual browse of some of the dedicated mod forums here, as well as the Mod Discussion forum. That should give you a decent place to start building your understanding of just what is available to you. Also, browsing the categories of the modlist will give you some hints.

Beyond that, there are a great many "what do you recommend/what do you install?" threads, here and elsewhere... advice being free and all, the quality and taste varies, but sooner or later you'll get a vibe about a mod you're intrigued by, or a person whose opinion seems to be not completely brewed in an alien beaker, and be able to start installing.

Well it's been ages since I've been around; I wouldn't doubt that people have long since forgotten me...  I had to change my SN, since I really don't remember my old one...  That's how long it's truly been.  -sigh-  I think the last time I was here, I was maybe seventeen or eighteen...  Pretty much when the old site split up into two.  So I was here during the birth of Pocket Plane...  Wow, takes you back doesn't it?

You guys still have my picture up; that makes me smile lol.  Scroll through, find Kate, that's me.  Err...  Wait, was that my SN?! -sigh- maybe?  I don't have that email anymore though, which makes me think I wouldn't even remember the password if I tried...  -grumbles-

ANYWAY, I just really wanted to pop in and say "hello" to everyone that might remember me, it's really been awhile.  Can you believe how long I've gone without a computer?  Better yet, let's not talk about that :D  I'm just extremely thankful that I backed up the NPC I was working on...  Now it's just a matter of trying to remember how to do everything.

-heads over to the tutorial area-
