the last one is my fave too
Now, at last, the masks had fallen away.  The strings of the puppets had become visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed.  Most ironic of all was the last gift that Raziel had given me, more powerful than the sword that now held his soul, more acute even than the vision his sacrifice had accorded me - the first bitter taste of that terrible illusion:  Hope.

There is a (very slight) "racoon effect" around her eyes, I think, but not so much of one to really notice, so it's no big deal.  Her hair's actually pretty cool but I don't like the little braid thingies for the sole reason that Imoen's got 'em too and it reminds me too much.  When one char reminds me too much of another char it turns me off to that char, but I mean it's your decision and everybody likes her hair the way it is so...

Umm, I kinda like the portait used in the de'Arnise commercial better, the one with the blue clothing, but that's just me.

I think you should PM icelus about this one directly, if only to increase his pout to unmanageable levels.  ;D

I'll have a look at the racoon effect.
I think the braid thingies don't fit in yet, so I have to work on them, anyway. I think I have an unbraided version as well, I'll work on that one, too, as I don't like the braids too much, either, but did them on request.
There won't be a version that looks exactly like that one in the old commercial, but I'll try to get close.

I'm a little late to this topic, but I like the new hi-res pic.  Yes, removing the raccoon effect around her eyes would be a further improvement.  (Actually, just below her eyes.)

Another point, I think that I'd like to see Nalia in new clothes.  Not just recolored old ones.  I personally liked the blue outfit, though some didn't.

Thanks for reminding me that I should work on this portrait again, I haven't done anything after posting it  :-[

Yes, especially on the right side (from our point of view) her skin is still purple.
I don't know what I'll do with her clothes, yet; at the moment, I'm rather worried about her hair and how I can improve it  :)

(PS to whoever made it - I have issues with the wording in this one - "They took her home. They killed her family." ???)

Maybe 'they stole her home' or 'they sacked her home'. The wording is a bit misinterpretable at the moment :-\

They "assinated" her home?  I'm not gonna even ask what you meant by that one.  Hope I don't make you feel bad, but I laughed out loud when I read that line.  Don't all of you jump on me at once; just thought it was rather humorous.  Well I'd better end this post before you guys "assinate" me too.  Sounds rather painful.

No excuse. Thirteen year olds are capable of basic spelling and grammar. No one is asking you to write the Great American Novel, but if you slowed down and gave it a bit of effort you might not be the subject of such widespread ridicule*.

Do schools even teach grammar and spelling these days?  Judging from what I've seen in various places around the 'Net, I have to wonder... if they do, the students obviously aren't expected to pass.

As for the topic (ah, yes, the topic!), I want to add my kudos to those of the others, Evaine.  That you can do such good work with a clunker like MS Paint is astonishing.

I prefer hair without the accouterments (I'm a minimalist by nature), and actually rather like the blue dress.  But any of the portraits would be worthy.  I normally use photographs I've taken off the 'Net for all the female characters in the game, but the way Nalia is looking I think I'll be making an exception.

I find the fact that people actually spend time outside of the board talking bad about people they don't even know rather odd, but I guess that's their perogative.

Ok, I think I'll have to repeat myself:

With MS Paint.

Meeting people on the internet isn't much different from meeting them IRL. I don't see the disconnect that so many people do. People gossip, complain, flirt, joke... it's human nature. That doesn't change just because we're typing instead of speaking.

By the way, it's spelled prerogative ;).

I have a terrible habit of usually taking what I read on the 'Net literally, since one cannot hear a tone of voice or see a facial expression, and people don't always use smilies for the same purposes. :)

Yeah. It's called "IRC". Big link on the front page, some few threads which mention it, quote it or are outright dedicated to it? You might have heard of it, even if you're too busy feeling superior to actually give it a shot, yeah?

@ Corvis: I have heard of it, I'm just not really interested. In all honesty, I don't think i'd quite fit in with the IRC'ers--so i'm a bit intimidated. :-[ But, in this case, I just have a tendency to stick up for the underdog. And believe me, I have no illusions of superiority. I'm an unabashed nerd, among other things. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be here.

@Neriana: Yes, my misspelling of prerogative was ironic. ;) I can see your viewpoint, but in my experience, internet drama is rather frivolous. I think on the internet it's beneficial to kind of supress some human instincts for one's own sanity--though the people around here do seem a bit more mature than on some of the boards i've been around.

*mumbles*

Saw that first as 'Raided Her Panties'... I'm not sure if I'm more disturbed that I had such a blatant Freudian slip, or that I had a flash that 'raided her panties' actually sort of fit just as well as 'raided her pantry'. :P
