Romance Questions

After reading through some of the Romance scripts, and just from what I remember some of the banters that NPC have with the PC. It seems the Romance with Aerie that the PC never goes out of his way to tell her hes a Baal spawn but that she picks up on it at one point. Though with alot of banters the PC has with character such as Valgar the PC the Banters are directed to the PC being able to confess that he is a Baal Spawn.

It just seems wierd and the indifference to this fact. Though Viconica, Jaheria, and Minsc probally did not need to be told cause of BG.

Just wondering what is common place for 3rd party romances such as Kesley, or other in creation. What is a view on if its necisary to tell a party memeber that your Baal Spawn....

With Cailean, we have him hearing rumors about the PC's past and asking the PC to confirm whether the Bhaalspawn gossip is true or not.

Somewhat similarly.  Kelsey too has heard stories about Sarevok and Baldur's gate.

Okay thanks, thats some food for thought. If anyone else has info on such as Keto or anyone other non Pocket Plane romanceable NPC then any more would be appreciated but thanks anyway.

Depending on when you meet the romance, they could hear some of it from conversation amongst party members, specifically if Jaheira is in the group.  For Keli, she's grown up near Nashkall and has heard of what happened there, although that wouldn't let her in on the fact that the PC is a Bhaal spawn.  Otherwise, I think the experience in Spellhold would be a pretty good clue.

True, but theoritically speaking a romance can be well on the way by the time you get to spell hold only to make it a double shock when your in the dungeon that your A) A child of Baal. (something that could of been told earlier) B) Your now unstable in the fact that you could lose yourself to the Ravager. Eitherway I'm just putting out thoughts to get more thoughts back in general and on other mods.

Off the top of my head, Keto will talk to the PC about <PRO_HESHE> being a Bhaalspawn once the Firkraag encounter reveals it, plus there's the obligatory Slayer transformation reaction.

Hessa followed the Kelsey/Cailean route. There's a PC talk about Candlekeep/Baldur's Gate, blahblahblah, and the player can opt to tell her about being a child of Bhaal, which will allow another talk where Hessa will bring up Calimport in the Time of Troubles.
