Resting Problem
« on: June 07, 2004, 02:37:08 AM »
Does someone have any ideas why pressing the rest buttom in a modded BGII game (a fair bit of WeiDU mods) would crash the game?? I'm just wondering cause i'm experiencing that right now...........I did check the baldur.ini file and upon closer examination there were 3 lines as follow RESTDUNG=1, RESTCAMP=1, and RESTINN=1, I switched the 1s to 0s and tried it and so far I can rest........but to add more mystery (at least to me) two of the 0s went back to 1.......now I don't know which is the correct setting...........but yeah any light as to why this is happening or how to manually fix it would be great.....

Those 0s and 1s in the last section of baldur.ini dictate which sequences you've seen...  So there is no 'correct setting'.

It's very unlikely to have anything to do with baldur.ini, more likely to have something to do with a mod trying to spawn some sort of action upon rest. What do you have installed?

Or something's wrong with your data.
Can you watch the movies from the Main Menu?

yes I can watch the movies.........more specifically the game doesnt' crash all the time it seems.........but sometimes it does so frequently.........it happened a couple of times at Chateau Irenicus so I did a clean install (including the latest patch + the Baldurdash fixpack) and installed the mods again (minus some), then I rested and I thought it was now fine.........then in Waukeens' Promenade I rested outside just to check and it was fine.......but then I went into one of the inns, drunk a bit, and tried to rest but then the game crash.........reloaded and after a couple of times it worked when I tinkered with baldur.ini rest lines (but it seems that was just a fluke now that I know what they mean)......i'm just not sure what could be doing this and now I'm afraid to rest lol.......

as to what I have installed here goes in this order(the ones in red I'm playing for the first time):

1. Ascension-Weidu v1.4.17 (6/6 components)

13. Chloe v1.2 (1/1)
14. Solaufein v100 (1/1)
15. Banter Packs v4 (4/4)
16. NPC Tweak Pack v2.5 (1/5)
17. P&P Celestials v1.0.1 (1/1)

18. Rogue Rebalancing Mod v3.11 (4/8)
19. Expanded Thief Stronghold v2.8 (1/3)
20. Improved Oasis 2 v5 (2/2)
21. Ashes of Embers v19 (5/16)
