-Husband and wife in Umar Hills

You can ask them about a cottage in the area. You're looking for Valygar's, but they tell you about Merella's. See the weird strings.

Quote
-Original tougher Shade lord

He has an alternate, unused file. See sendark.cre.

Quote
-The Drow chest's guardians

Monsters that were supposed to guard the chest in City-of-Caverns, along with the beholder. See weird strings, and sahbeh02, 03 and 04.cre.

Quote
-Ulvaryl's dialog

See her dialog file.

Quote
-Drenden Shale taking care of Jaheira

After she was cursed by Ployer, that druid would take her with him. This was maybe cut because Jahs leaving the party could screw up the romance. Must have been found in the Druid grove. See drenden.cre and associated dlg file.

Quote
-Dog meat and vampire blood

Maybe substitutes for the crystal shard and Dace' hand. See weird strings, and the vampire stake item.

Quote
-Nilthiri's disease

Supposed to burst into deseased rats when she died (could be coded like the troll who spilts in two in Nalia's keep). See weird strings, drshnl01.bcs and sickrat.cre.

Quote
-Less hasty Gaelan Bayle

There's a string where you accept to follow him to his house after all (which you normally can't refuse). Might have to do with the alternate promenade cutscene.

Quote
-Choice of rewards for illithium quest

See weird strings.

Quote
-Amaunator statue's riddles

See weird strings.

Quote
-Falik coming to you for help

Asks you to go find his wounded friend Grancor (normally they're both at the same spot). See weird strings.

Quote
-Sahuagin ambush in the Sphere

Door supposed to lock behind you. See weird strings.

Quote
-Mook's vampirism

Might actually be Kachiko, one of the thieves who were supposed to help you against Bodhi in chap.6. Becomes a vampire, Arkanis Gath has a comment. See weird strings, c6kach.cre and c6kach02.cre.

Quote
-Yoshimo and the nymphs

See weird strings.

Quote
-Lady Diana and Lord Feveran

Who are they waiting for? Nothing proves that this is UB at all, I'd remove it from the list (along with a few more items).

I don't think this is related to the Shade Lord.  It looks more like something that was cut from Sendai's lair...

-The Drow chest's guardians

OK... but which weird strings?

Hmm... well, Nilthiri's .cre file is DRSHNL01.cre, and it seems they forgot to assign DRSHNL01.bcs to her.  It will require some testing, though.

OK, but again... which ones specifically?

The Dark Master and Shade Lord have very similar stats, though.

Do you still have my whole weird strings list somewhere?

All I've got is the archived thread from the old Studios forum...

If you've updated it since this list, or included any ToB content, then I don't have it.  :(

Found the list. I still haven't gone any farther than string 37367, in case someone wants to do some reading...

Quote
@32132 = ~Do you know anything about a cabin in these parts?~
@32139 = ~Eh?  Are you talking about Merella's cabin?~
@32147 = ~Who is Merella?~
@32148 = ~No... I'm looking for a cabin built on some land owned by the Corthala family in Athkatla.~
@32149 = ~I don't think so... forget about it.~
@32150 = ~Merella's the ranger who protected these parts until her disappearance.  Err... her cabin lies directly west of the village inn, but nobody's there now.~
@32151 = ~No... I'm looking for a cabin on some land owned by the Corthala family of Athkatla.~
@32152 = ~No, I don't think that's it... thanks anyway.~
@32153 = ~Herrrm... no, I don't think I know anything about that...~
@32154 = ~Perhaps <HESHE> is speaking of the abandoned cabin in the hills, husband?~
@32155 = ~Could be.  There is a cabin up in the northwest hills, my <LADYLORD>... unused for many years.  Some wealthy Athkatla family owns it.~
@32156 = ~As you wish, stranger.~

@20923 = ~Yes, you've got it right.~
@20924 = ~No.  Excuse me.~
@20925 = ~Yes, but I'd like to know who you are.~

@33562 = ~Falik at your service.  My companion Grancor needs help with finding a... a I can't remember what, but if you talk to him he'll tell you.~

Actually, it seems like the Umar couple is talking about the abandoned (and impossible to enter) cabin next to Merella's... I'm intrigued!

I don't think that's two cabins side-by-side.  It's one "L-"shaped cabin...

The abandoned cabin "up in the northwest hills" that is owned by a "wealthy Athkatla family" is quite obviously Valygar's place.

hehe, finally registered and am attempting to be a productive member of onlinedom.  so the dog's meat thing sounds like maybe a kobold's body, since they're compared to yipping dogs all the time?  and remember that vampire which was in the underdark, i think?  the one trapped somewhere and had dialogue?  i thought there was some blood involved in that; perhaps it was in spellhold instead of the underdark...maybe even dace?

Yes, Dace, probably instead of his hand. The blood was probably to be taken from him with that Vampire Stake item, instead of just destroying him with a Wooden Stake. And it mentions a dog avatar or something, so probably the Avatar of Kurtulmak (you never actualle see him IIRC, and there were some cut dialogs there).

Here's a few more to clarify... this time from the ToB list:

-Saemon disguising the party as monks
-Bounty hunters
-More obvious clue for Watcher's Keep

-Saemon disguising the party as monks

@67723 = ~Assault on the Enclaves

Saemon came through as promised... eventually.  Armed with the password and disguised by the stolen uniforms, I will be able to enter the monastery and confront Balthazar!~

Quote
-Bounty hunters

The group that attacks you for no reason along Gromnir was actually supposed to go looking for the Bhaalspawn (don't know where the confrontation was supposed to take place). See TOBPAR01.CRE to TOBPAR06.CRE and TOBPAR01.DLG.

Quote
-More obvious clue for Watcher's Keep

@63234 = ~The floor is inlaid with a mosaic of colorful bricks.  The right side follows the pattern of blue, purple and red; the left follows a pattern of two red stones, then a purple.~

(A more obvious clue for Watcher Keep’s 4th level puzzle, could be a simple "?" trigger on the floor.)

OK, I've coded Nilthiri's "disease,"  though I still need to test it, and I'll try to add the WK clue.  The others I'll work on bit by bit.

OK, I'm guessing this is possible to add, but, looking back at AR3017, I'm not exactly sure where to set the trigger.  The tiles are on two separate ends of the room...

Looking at the WK clue, I get the impression it was meant not as a more obvious clue but as a more simplistic one--perhaps something that was planned before they realized they could actually show rather than telling what the tiles look like.

That's what I'm thinking, too.  It wouldn't really make sense to have that same "clue" on both sets of tiles.  Maybe, somewhere along the way, all of the tiles were together, not separated across the room.

What about triggering it anywhere on the floor in the main room?

..and you pretty much couldn't walk. Okay, dumb idea  ;D

So, what would be the best option then? Trigger on both sets of tiles, or not restoring this one at all?

Couldn't you split the string into two? One for the left hand side and one for the right and have two triggers.

Possible, yes, but considering the amount of work it would be to setup a new trigger, and weighing its return, I don't think it's worth the effort.  The tiles are already large enough to be obvious, so the "clue" is almost irrelevant.  :(

Since CBisson posted his outline code for adding a trigger to an area (which I debugged for him) I have been looking for an excuse to try it out. I'll code it if you want it.

Well, if you want to take a stab at it, more power to ya!  :D
It might be kinda tricky, though, since the tiles are partially curved on one side.
