i think weimer should open the beta up.  obviously not much is being done in the way of progress, so opening it up to a larger test sample will help stomp the bugs and balance issues quicker.

Its not exactly hard to get a copy of the beta-- you email Weimer (Here) and ask if you can please help beta test.  He replied to me next day.

Others have emailed and not gotten replies yet, I cannot say if IWG2 should be made open beta or not, since i am not one of the programmers or anything such. It would be great to be able to try it, and if Weimer doesnt have time for it, it would be nicer to play what they gotten so far than nothing at all :-/

But this still comes down to Weimer to decide what to be done.

Mr. Weimer is definatly still around, just busy. I got a Email from him today letting me be a beta tester and he said hes still around and working on IWG II

Sure hes made great mods for all the infinity engine games, namely BG2 to my knowledge and thanks for that, but come on!
Nothing has been done on this for about 6 or 7 months atleast, I just wish someone else new how to take  up the reigns ( hint hint, if you know how get fixing it) I'm sure weimer wouldnt mind some one else having a go if hes getting his Ph D or what not. I'm tired of checkin this forum every month or so, and not having any change.People keep talking about certain things but weimer never says: Blah Blah this is fixed heres a new version with the fix. It seems he Aint doin this anymore and I'm damn tired of waiting for something that seems dead and buried. I'm sure if he was still working on it he would have shut me up the first time i said ithad been ages two months ago. I'm guessing you somehow went to his personal webpage, which is at somewhere or other, instead of his mod webpage, which is still at http://www.weidu.org/ and still dedicated to his mods.

Some of us live within a mile or so of Wes, talk to him on the phone, and borrow ToB CDs from him when ours are in the process of getting replaced.  Believe me--if he was actually gone, I'd know.  He almost certainly hasn't replied to this because he hasn't looked at his forum lately.
