random encounters bug?

well, i suppose that it could be a feature, but i'm hoping not


anyhow, as part of the random encounters in Athkatla, every once in awhile, a pack of bandits will spawn--1 cleric, 1 mage, and three thieves.  they gulp down oils of speed and invisibility potions like it's going out of style.


they also seem to be able to track invisible characters.  whenever my PC goes invisible, they just follow him around until i wears off.  I can't shake them unless go to another area entirely.


was this on-purpose or has something gone funky in my install?
