Yep, having Dudleyfix installed results in not finding _narrat.cre.

Yeah, Dudleyfix is responsible for the _narrat.cre error, and a few others of a similar nature that'll crop up if you fix the _narrat.cre bug.

There is a bg1tutu.log file in your BG2 folder which lists the error messages.

Mmm how shall i explain, when you open up tutu.exe so it starts to install then after a couple of minutes when its been copying files for a while, it goes really fast saying something like Bg1......................File not found. It is several of those so it lasts for a second thats why i could read it. But it is like it cant find some files in the folder where i have installed Bg1 and totsc. At first it seems to just be copying files in teh bg2 folder i think? but then when it goes to the bg1 folder it shows that files not ofund and then it turns itself off. Any more clear?

The error messages that went by so fast are stored in the bg1tutu.log file.
Did you check that it copied all files from the CD on install? (The list is in that "The complete list of BIFF files" thread.)

Just a small question. The readme says to install BG1 mods before running tutu, and BG1TuTu mods afterwards.

Therefore the mods listed here: http://www.pocketplane.net/modlist/index.php?ax=list&cat_id=98 must be installed... after running Tutu?

Thanks.

Edit: Or I should install after running Tutu only the mods listed here: http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=content&task=blogcategory&id=134&Itemid=94 ?

Both lists are not really different things, except that the Modlist contains, I think, a few more items.

Those mods listed there you should, generally, install after Tutu.
I haven't any experience with those working for both BG1 and Tutu, esp. Secrets of Bone Hill and Grey Clan, though.

Mods to install before Tutu would be those made for BG1 without Tutu, listed here in the Modlist.
Not all are working with Tutu, though, and Tutu versions of a mod should be preferred (when running Tutu, of course).

Thanks Cas. After reading all the readmes and a first attempt of installing Tutu, I figured out the installation procedure. As you said most of them detect Tutu so it is no problem, others were a bit misleading in their install procedure, but I should be fine now.

This should be my installation order unless I change something last moment. Please let me know if you see something wrong, I'll install this tomorrow most likely.

[BG1 Folder]
Baldurdash Fixpack
Baldurdash Textupdate

[BG2 Folder (Override)]
BG2fix_complete

[BG2 Folder]

Sirine’s Call v.2
The Grey Clan Episode I v.175

Hi there,

A bit of inconsistency in the downloading and installation instructions - the tutu homepage says that the latest version is v4 and gives links to that (and says that you have to run BG1 and BG2 once each to populate something or other), but the "readme" and its installation instructions are for v5, which includes dudleyfixes (but doesn't say you have to run BG1 and BG2 once each before installing tutu). Is v5 an alpha release, or is the homepage out of date?

Thanks,

James

The v5 of Tutu was buggy, so it's been abandoned/postponed.  Use Tutu v4 - it works just fine.

BTW - could someone change the Tutu page, puh-lease?  This question has been asked a lot lately and could be avoided (or at least lessened) in the future if there wasn't conflicting info on that page.

Hey, to anyone reading, please help my semi computer literate self. I've followed all the instructions in the readme to the point where I'm supposed to run tutu. I do and after a few seconds it just shuts off. The log file shows this:

okay, I got past that (so did all the other people who posted with the same problem. I loose at internet.)

Anyway, now tutu is saying the game isn't patched, even when it is. Off to download a diferent patch it seems.

finally got it working. Seems the problem was tutu wants the patch to be placed in the BGII directory BEFORE you run it otherwise it doesn't accept the game has been patched. That and if it messes up and doesn't install you need to remove the game and reinstall it.

Funnily enough, if the game hasn't actually been patched Tutu won't accept it as patched.

It was patched. way to misread what I wrote there. I had the patch stored in my documents and was running it from there and tutu wouldn't accept it. Once I moved the patch to the bgII directory everything worked fine.

The problem must have been something else, fixed coincidentally. Tutu doesn't require the patch to be run from the game folder.

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'

           [./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.

is it something i haven't done? or something i did wrong?

Same problem with _ingwolf.itm here. Tried to convert a BG1 install with BG1 Baldurdash fixpack to BG+ToB with BG2 Baldurdash fixpack. Tutu seemed to work, tutufix not so.
