Little poll: how long does it actually take (wall-clock time) for you to run iwg2.exe for the first time on any given day?

Actually, the process is largely disk-bound. You can demonstrate this to yourself by running iwg2 twice. The first time, when the disk/buffer cache is cold, it will take X amount of time. The second time, when the cache is hot, you can expect anywhere from X/2 to X/10 time.

Ah, ok. Well I've only installed any given version once.

That is what you meant by running it- installing and converting BG2? It just occured to me you might mean loading up to play, in which case about 30 seconds (ie slower than normal IWD2).
