I dont know if anyone notice it, but Valen can dominate a mindflayer and mordenkainen sword. Is this a bug? or was it really intended because as far as I can tell these creatures should be immune to it right?  

And by the way I have installed v.38 just in case.

Very interesting!

Are you sure you have the latest official patch and Baldurdash? They fix some bugs with Mordy.

Mind Flayers are not actually immune to charm -- the Mind Flayer Control Circlet is the well known counter-example. They just have really high MR. However, since Valen charms over and over she may eventually get through.

You can also lower the mindflayer's resistance, then charm them with a normal charm spell.  I use this method to avoid using up control circlets.
