Title: Advice for my fresh start?

Heya I wanna start another play through of my favourite RPG, BG2, yet I've never used any mods.

Im just wondering what I need for the more functional and fulfilling game.

Thus far I plan to apply the BioWare patch, BG2 Fixpack V9 is latest I believe, and Ascension, though I wonder if anyone has an updated version somewhere outside this forum?? Also Unfinished Business looks like it'd be appropriate.

Would all these work together? Could anyone recommend anything else?

You should definitely add BG2Tweaks for a first runthrough with mods. You'll never play without it afterwards.

Shoot, that's not the same as Fixpack??

G3 is down now to so I'm having a hard time doing my research...

G3 is back up, give it a look.

And Fixpack is not the same as Tweaks, no.

BG2 TOB patch
Fixpack
Tweakpack
Unfinished Business
Ascension

is that right or should Ascension be before tweakpack?

Ascension is a really old mod (it overwrites several files), it should go very early in your mod install. I'd do

BG2 TOB patch
Ascension
Fixpack
Unfinished Business
Tweakpack
