New Spellhold Studios Website
Hello, just wanted to let folks know Spellhold Studios is now hosting the BG2 forums previously hosted at the now defunct Forgotten Wars site.

While this is covered already in the Mod Discussion board, the fact of the matter is that the former Studios site had been the largest and overall most popular modding destination for roughly the past 12 months, and since they have apparently lost the use of the FW domain that had been so heavily branded over the past 3-4 years, there's a lot of potential for casual players to get lost on the way to try to find something and give up. The same thing came up when TBG went dark last year.
To that end, we're taking the fairly extraordinary step of going through the forum and redirecting posts with the now-dead URLs in them. It's slow going since, depending on the context, the new URL may need to be on Studios, G3, PPG, or nowhere at all. So if you start seeing edit tags on old posts or the occasional "obsolete link removed", that's why.

I've corrected a few old CoM and TBG links to reflect moved forums, too, when I've noticed them, so a second heads up: I estimate we've gotten at least 75% of the Studios links adjusted so far. There's still other non-Studios linkage floating around that could use correcting. Members might want to scan their past posts and check for needed corrections to help smooth community-wide traffic.

Now that SConrad has assumed command, he may be in need of some tips on how to be an Evil Overlord. Here are some I think will be useful.
1. Loftiness is an attractive stance. Petulance isn’t. Name-calling, accusing others of shiftiness, and generally having a tanty lessen the amount of awe you inspire. If you are shitty with someone, PM. This will be important to remember in times of stress and farcture. Aspire to dignity at all times. It’s worth it.
2. If you have written a rebuttal to an enemy overlord, and it gradually loses capitals and punctuation as your wrath gathers, it may not be a good idea to post it without editing. Elevate a peon to the position of trusted lieutenant who can be relied upon to proof-read.
3. Choose a style of Overlordship and maintain it. Peons will be patient while you develop it. Try not to have more than three main characteristics – it gets too hard for the masses. Some to choose from are: Chaotic, Stealthy, Overbearing, Gracious, Lordly, Inflexible, Unpredictable, Despotic, Charming, Mysterious, Condescending, and Explosive.
4. Think about acquiring an upper echelon of supporters once you have established yourself and are happy with your style. The benefits are support and the ability to delegate as needed. The disadvantage is you may be training your usurper/rebel leader.
5. Your echelon of supporters should be as diverse a group as you can manage. Try to avoid choosing people who are exactly like you. This makes it more interesting for the masses, and displays your Overlord qualifications. Peons will be impressed by your charisma and leadership.
6. Never apologise. (You are an Evil Overlord, after all.) But if you stuff up, a change in tone is recommended. This promotes longevity.

Actually, image is everything.
Be a member of a forum - that way you can flame people and then quickly edit your post.
Send PM's - it removes the ability of others to judge you - you can always say 'that guy had it in for me, you can't trust him'.
