The README for Valen says she will be "weaker" in daylight, but in my game, she can't even move as it says she's "encumbered," seemingly by the weight of her own body. Her STR dipped to 3 and her CON is very low too (can't remember off the top of my head).   Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug?  I'm using the most recent release of Valen.
She is supposed to drop down to 8 or 9 STR in the sunlight -- that should limit her weight allowance to around 50 pounds. Her "armor" does not weight 50 pounds and it is quite possible for her to move at normal speed in the sunlight. Drop heavy items (the suggested throwing daggers are a good guess). Keep Vampires out of the sun. :-)

She should drop to STR 8 and DEX 1 (at least that's what she does here).

Take away her equipment if you want her to move in daylight.  Particularly, look at the poisoned throwing daggers.

If she's genuinely encumbered with nothing, that's a bug, but I suspect she's still carrying some equipment.
